I put in a waitlist reservation. It seems like this always conveniently happens though. I can see BBTS or Alter Ego selling out because they get smaller orders but Sideshow seems to do this a lot. I somehow doubt this is going to completely sell out before release when most other Star Wars figures lingered for quite a while. I’m sure it’s not a release like Tarkin who was probably produced in lower numbers. While the prequels aren’t as popular I don’t see a character like Anakin not getting a decent production size.

I think many people waited to see in hand pics before ordering. The robe is somewhat forgivable. The rest of the figure is AWESOME.

Wouldn't surprise me if it sells out. Hot Toys may be trepidatious about PT figures given that PT merchandise hasn't been a hot seller even when the movies were in theaters.

Not sure I agree with that. I remember it being quite difficult to find Darth Maul, and later General Grievous merchandise on store shelves for awhile.

Unlike Kylo bore merch which needs to be given away now. You can get the unmasked Kylo 6" Hasbro BS figure for $6, and pretty much every other ST figure for near or less than 50% off. All the PT figures sell quick and go for a pretty penny now.

Sure, maybe a few select figures were selling out. Darth Maul has always been a big seller. Hayden Christensen Anakin? Not so much.

I'm talking about his action figures when the movies were in theaters. At that point in time people weren't flocking to buy his merchandise.

I sort of doubt it. They might have done a slightly lower run compared with the Original Trilogy stuff but I would imagine with him being one of the main characters they’ll make a decent amount. Star Wars stuff usually sells because fans are suckers (myself included). The only reason merchandise may appear to be not selling is that there’s too much of it being made and it sits.

I know I’ll get tore up for this, but maybe it’s not ALL smoke up our butts when you go to Hot Toys website and it’s listed as “Hot Item”. That’s the biggest reason I decided to preorder, just in case because I knew I was getting it anyways....

I had thought to do that but the coupon only works on orders $200 or more and Yoda is $199.99.

Yep, I was hoping to use the coupon on Anakin as well. May still wait it out to see if he magically comes in stock once he arrives. Not super tempted to use it on anything else, tbh.

I’d say they have a better handle on production numbers now since the TFA debacle. Snowtrooper and Tarkin both sold out quick. So did Jyn regular. Rogue One Luke disappeared. They’re definitely being conservative with the numbers and getting full price orders as a result.

Yoda has hung around but they likely made more since he’s an iconic character and unlikely to be re-made.
