Idk. To my eyes, HT has never once captured Ewan McGregor's likeness on a single Obi-Wan figure they've made. I find that very strange because I'm sure they are capable of sculpting it.

Unless they just don't care to because they know the figure will still sell regardless. I just find it very odd that they seemingly go out of their way to not do it.

I agree. I know I'm looking at a figure of Obi-Wan when I look at it, but I don't really quite see Ewan. I don't get it.

Either way, I think the new figure is definitely an improvement over the old sculpt. That bottom lip is just brutal on the old one. I'm half tempted to get the figure just for the sculpt on my ROTS figure. Or, god willing, I can find the sculpt parted out somewhere.

I hate HT insistence on giving a portrait with an expression as the main and only sculpt. They NEED to stop doing that. Either give the figure to me with MULTIPLE portraits, or give me the one stoic, neutral expression. Snarling expressions like we see with Solo’s Maul works…but I’d still prefer a 2nd one that didn’t grit his teeth at me.

This combined with Ashoka’s Anakin…like how the **** are they gonna compliment one another? We got one guy on the verge of LoLing before he tells the punchline to his own joke, and the other is about to clash blades with Dooku.

Expression’d portraits are why I passed on these.

HT's "expression" sculpts can be the stuff of memes. This fig is growing on me. Luv Obi, may pick this up just to add to his arc on the shelf. It could be kinda cool since I have the Sideshow Mythos with the armor/backpack.

Already waiting on the Disney show Obi - which has been pushed back so often, maybe will show up in December.

He looks just about great, that cartoony arm armor really sucks though, the elbows and the bulbous ness of the armor reminds me of the Hasbro 12 inch clones. Head is great, and now that this is out hopefully they can throw EP 1 or 2 obi up

That sounds about right to me. That’s often how things played out on Clone Wars

The animated design armor on the forearm isn't doing it for me on this. Looks really awkward and clunky. They should have included swap out versions is they were gonna do those.

Completely agree, but to be fair, this Obi-Wan was first revealed as a proto soooooooooooooo long ago. He was supposed to be partnered with STAP Clone Wars Ani, not sympathetic, sensitive "I lost my favorite sweater" Clone Wars Ani. But I 100% agree. When they do these weird expressions as the only HS it drives me crazy. At least make a deluxe version available with a second headsculpt so I have the option.

If we get TPM Obi- then I will probably display this one helmeted, as its my favorite Jedi Armor and I have a few Munilist Clones to pose with him.

HT, can we get a Dirge? As soon as I can get a 3D printer going, he's my first project.

I would have said unless Durge shows up in live action he wouldn’t happen but we just got Revan, Starkiller, Triple Zero, BT, Shadow troopers, and Dark Empire Luke so I think anything is probably fair game now - especially if it wears a helmet.

I don’t mind the muting of the skin textures as the prototypes tend to be over texturized (likely to account for the production softening).

I guess I'm just biased after having some pretty hi-res prints/casts of some custom sculpts. I think the extra detail makes them look better on the shelf, especially at viewing distance. Doesn't have to be ultra HD textures but something as subtle but still significant as the difference between HT and InArt The Batman. The InArt one isn't overaly textured/detailed but it has just enough more than the HT that really shows a difference in the quality of the casts

I wonder if this sits in stock like clone wars anakin. It looks like a 7/10 at best. Decent. I’m was so excited when this was finally announced after years of waiting but now, idk. I’ll get it eventually, but no rush.

I’m pretty sure this CW Kenobi figure was after HT had decided to lower their production numbers, so I don’t think it’ll last long even if it’s not waitlisted yet. Anakin was produced when HT was over producing figures which is why it’s sat for so long

Okay, so I’m impressed. I didn’t realize the visor on the helmet is magnetic and detachable (so that’s almost a third head option) nor did I know the cape and tunic were wired, so there’s some really great dynamic posing options here. Seeing the details and weathering up close really brings it to life, and I’ve warmed up to the headsculpt and expression quite a bit.

Pleasantly surprised.

Maybe this came out before mace and anakin to clear the decks for a phantom menace obi? Wishful thinking but hopefully it happens.
