Hot Toys Predator, Dutch and Billy review

It's a late one tonight, and I knew better than to wait so long into the weekend before working on this review...but I never learn! Tonight I'm checking out all three of the new Hot Toys Predator figures - Dutch, Billy and the Predator! Fans have been waiting a long time, including me, for Hot Toys to finally get to the original movie. Thank goodness that Hot Toys waited to get everything just right before they tackled it! I have some issues with these, particularly Billy, but they are still a mighty fine representataion of the characters.

How can the paint on Jason be 4 stars when the head flesh tone doesnt match the body flesh tone? It isnt even close.

Great reviews Michael... a treble whammy, your head must've been swimming! I have to keep myself in check for a double.

BTW I did mention the gizmo on Dutch's scabbard-
'his short knife hangs from the left, the scabbard for this also has the detonator tucked into the front of it… nice touch,'

I'm pretty sure it's meant to be the detonator, unless anyone knows better.

Yep, that must be the detonator! Kind of hard to tell in that scale.

And it was more than I should have tried, since I didn't even start til 8pm last night. Trying to get it shot, written, edited and posted in just 3 hours or so was way too much work.

I genuinely do not know how you do it!
it takes me between 5 to 10 hours on any given review, depending on how much research I need, I doff my cap to you sir!

Great review! Cant wait for exclusive pred to arrive, in transit to EU at moment. My first pred as well, bouncing off walls waiting! Hopefully gonna pick up a dutch when student loan comes through...

And Poncho and Hawkins! Lets hope the two underdogs come out next in fact, that way theres more of an indication that Hot Toys intend to complete the team.

Plus, Richard Chaves recently said he would grant likeness rights and wouldn't mind owning a figure of himself!

whoa billy really got a savage review.

but i guess he deserved it, cos he looks NOTHING like sonny landham. and i agree that if a company cannot manage to secure the likeness rights then they shouldn't try to pass it off as the character collectors are expecting. it's unfair. esp more jarring for a company like hot toys, who we all know can pull off amazing likenesses (eg: arnold as dutch).

also glad to see someone putting the pred1's height issue into proper perspective. i'd rather have a more accurately-proportioned and aesthetically pleasing figure than one with the "correct" height but weirdly shaped body or overly elongated neck, etc...

Well my wait list for the exclusive Predator converted today. Within 24 hours!

I'm going to have to cancel it though. I'm not risking missing my Exlusive Vader as he is supposed to start charging next week if the notices were correct.
