I still haven't watched Predators - yea, I bought the blu-ray but haven't had time - and yet my first Hot Toys action figure from the movie is here. It's Royce, and he's outstanding. Well, except for one issue that kills it for me, but it's a variable (i.e. manufacturing) problem that hopefully you won't have.

You'll find the review at the usual:

And yes, I'll be watching it before one of the Predators shows up! Thanks for reading,

Who did Brody play in Natural Born Killers? Dont remember him...

Neither do I. Find this picture after googling. If MC didn't mention, I would never notice he was there even if I watch this film for hundred times.

I liked the review particularly the praise of the headsculpt. "He always looks like you've hurt his feelings!" True.

I think the likeness is great - though I would have chosen a more aggressive expression, even if just a smidge. Still, its another excellent human figure from HT and I liked the character and Brody a lot - I hope he returns if theres another film to sort out exactly how they get off that ____ing planet.

Considering this is a figure of his character in Predators - and not The Pianist or his other non-action roles - the expression isn't exactly ideal. Too brody-neutral. Nevertheless the package as a whole makes up for it.

That looks nothing like Brody....not saying it isnt...but still looks nothing like him.

from what I recall, HT said that it's the actors/actresses who chooses the HS from the protos sent by HT. It's actually surprising that he chose one with facial expression instead of a neutral one. I would've wished that it came with an alternate head, though. I don't know why they're able to do it for some figures but not in others.

Bullets/Vest/Slot problem:

Just break out the sewing kit.. 2 or 3 stitches per bullet slot will suffice....

Soooo easy to fix.. 5 minutes of work max... and some light brown thread.

It would be about balancing their budget across their entire output of figures, where they deem it necessary to add extra value for us counterbalanced by where they feel they need to hold onto a certain profit margin, no?

While some characters have things like battledamage to supplement their clean looks and both are deemed equally important by us HT will include 2 heads. Likewise where a character like The Joker has different facial expressions that are equally important they try to get a few different heads made. However Royce doesn't really have any alternate looks or expressions that people would really value. Plus much as I liked him he probably won't be very memorable in the longterm except to the hardcore fans so HT probably didn't even consider providing 2 heads with this figure.

Great review as always... although I do think its kind of funny you'd drop so much $$$ on a figure for a movie you haven't even seen yet :lol

I do appreciate the dedication though :duff

Actually, Hot Toys sent it along...AND I bought one. I haven't cracked mine open yet though, since I'll need to sell it at some point.
