I'm hoping we get a reissue of Palpatine for the ROTJ 40th anniversary. I'd love to get the deluxe with the throne.
Great shot right there, looks like an evil smile rather than just a smile.Definitely must have the Sith Lord whom orchestrates the galaxy.

I know what you mean. And of course the boxes differ in dimensions so they don't stack evenly next to eachother. I'm waiting to be on the hoarders tv show where they throw my boxes away and find a dead cat that has become a rug.I was more bothered by the giant box that takes up a lot of room; storing boxes is harder than storing figures.
I envy anyone who doesn’t care about value and has the willpower to discard their boxes. Even if I don’t intend to sell, that’s really hard to do.
I ultimately kept the deluxe but currently have the throne in the box so at least it’s being utilized I guess.
Looks like he’s clicking his fingers to the Addams family theme tune. Nice pic tho
To be fair, he is creepy and kooky, and mysterious and spooky.Looks like he’s clicking his fingers to the Addams family theme tune. Nice pic tho

I tend to agree, though it is a weird figure - in some lighting (more top lighting, a bit shadowed) it looks exceptional, in other lighting (generally brighter and flatter) the expression looks off and almost silly. And yeah the robes are a bit too thick and the cut-sew on the sleeves isn't really correct to the costume. To be fair, its a fabric type - like the Jawa robe - that is near impossible to match in 1/6. You either get the texture right, or the drapiness, not both.I was watching ROTJ last night, thinking I'd really like to have an Emperor figure. What Hot Toys made, missed the mark. I bought it just because it was the Emperor, but the brown eyes, odd expression, thick robes ... it just isn't really representative of what was on the screen. I'd sell it, but ... it's the Emperor. I keep thinking someday, I'll have enough space to display everything I want, and when that happens, I'll need an Emperor.
Do you have a shot of the hands you are using? I tried some smaller ones at some point, but wasn't able to get the texture on there so I abandoned that idea.Palps and his Christmas tunes, that ol' softie.

Another issue that people seem to forgive is the hands are oversized (like a lot of HT hands) and not a great sculpt and it to me really impacts this figure because Palps is a major hands/gestures user in the movie, lots of subtlety conveying what's going on. The HT hands are also odd in that there are a decent amount of them, but for example there are two gesturing hands that are 98% the same except the lower three fingers are ever so slightly more curled inward.
I swapped the hands to smaller more slender hands and even though I haven't quite matched the skin color yet, I like them way more.
I would definitely be in for some smaller hands with more gestures if anybody were to offer them. I repainted mine and repositioned one left hand which improves them overall, but they are still oversized.A custom head sculpt and some hands....get a robe made up....I reckon you'd get something that looks pretty good if you missed him the first time. Easier said then done though. This is why I need to get my hands on a 3D printer. :-D
