It turned out he was going away for a month and didn't want bad feedback from Ebay auctions that had been won and not posted in that time, so he jacked us his auction prices to something no-one would pay so that no-one would buy till he got back...

I remember when I first started using eBay early 00s, fees were much lower! Mind you I used Amazon to sell the other day, its quite high too! About 15%?

Yeah. Ebay owns Paypal, but i think they will still operate as two separate companies, probably for tax reasons.
Ebay fees are ridiculous. But it's a worldwide market you have access to when you use them to sell.
Hard to argue with it.
