Has there ever been such a wonky release like this before?

I totally understand some of the possible reasons (ever heard of Covid?), but just curious if anyone remembers a release that was similar to what this has been?

Homecoming spiderman released Jan 1st 2018 and the majority did not ship until May/June of 2018. No port issues, no HK political issues and no pandemic.

I won't be able to play with my new doll until wednesday but I'm very curious if this v2/3 batch included improvements to the restrictive fat suit like they did w Jedi Luke V2.

I was lucky enough to get the v2 Jedi Luke and it is not fat at all.

For whatever it's worth, I haven't found the suits at all restrictive on either Mando, and I'm reasonably certain I've got the first batch of both. I had to move the shoulders around a little to loosen things up, but after that they had a full range of movement.

I disagree on that. Sideshow is the distributor and retailer themselves which is an odd situation. How would you like it if you ran a shop and the distributor waited until they sold through to their customers before sending you any? That's crazy. They have to maintain business relationships to sell all the rest of their ****.

This is exactly what SS does though. It's been increasingly evident that if you have any advantage over SS as a retailer, you get the very last stock that they have to ship out. It's simply behind coincidence now that BBTS and AE don't get their stock until *** end of things. Both of them are far more competitive in their shipping and and AE offers rewards too.

Check that silver paint. There seems to be some question on whether it is improved or just different.

I remember it taking what felt like forever just to see the final product photos of the Batman v Superman Wonder Woman. And on a completely unrelated-to-Hot-Toys note, Square Enix announced FF7 Remake in 2015 and then there was radio silence until 2019. Then the game got pushed back from its March 3rd release date to April 10. And that was right around the time Covid hit my area, so I had the added stress of worrying whether I was gonna die before I got to play it.

So having to wait maybe another month before I get Beskar Mando? Doesn't seem that terrible to me by comparison :lol

It sucks being at the whim of this stupid pandemic and shipping delays, and not having a solid answer of WHEN we're gonna get this thing we're all looking forward to. It sucks not being in control of what happens. But all we can do is try to be patient, and it'll get to us when it gets to us.

It?s really not the delays that bother me, it?s the inconsistency of the order process of sideshow that is a cluster ****.

Finally unboxed these guys. The deluxe is definitely the way to go for accessories even though I most likely won?t be using them all... still great to have them standing by and it?s nice to finally have a proper 1/6 Grogu.
Will take some better shots whenever I finish up the S2 thigh armor I picked up. Still deciding if I want to permanently mod the cape or leave him a purely S1 display version. Hopefully the Din & Grogu with swoopbike set will get a release
Meantime here are some crappy cellphone shots.

Those pics look spectacular actually.
Just a simple pose but man it looks realistic.
The Grogus are really good too.

You sound like a patient person. But this figure was released in November. It?ll be May or later before a person can go on Sideshow?s website and order an in-stock Mando. That?s an additional half-year delay on top of the year wait since pre-order.

The unfortunate reality is if Sideshow were honest from the start as to how long it?d take for these figures to arrive from them on account of using boats instead of planes to bring them overseas, they know we?d shop elsewhere. I placed an order from them a month ago for Captain America when they claimed it was shipping any day now, and a month later no one has received it.

It?s the combination of delays and seemingly deliberate deception that most frustrates me.

Every major company in the world uses container ships to move products. It's a multi-million dollar industry. Everything you've ever bought in your life--that hasn't been made in your home country--has been moved by a container ship. That's why the suez canal fiasco was so important to get fixed.

Sideshow has no control in how fast they receive their product. They don't control how fast the ships arrive, how fast customs processes their shipments, how much stock they're given by Hot Toys.

People don’t wait 6 months to get iPhones because Apple puts them on cargo planes. Not denying a whole lot of goods come by ship but it is not the one and only option.

Probably no released figure has ever taken this long to ship.

This was the exact example I was going to mention. I'm pretty sure mine didn't come into stock at BBTS until July of that year, was forever.
