The chrome plating comes at a significant price increase over the previous figure, which was not “defective” and in need of exchange. Rather, Hot Toys is now offering the option of an even more premium product at an even higher price. No different than when they moved to diecast for Iron Man.

Why would anyone want die-cast for this? Can we have real beskar instead? Die-cast is really redundant and just increase the price of the figure.

I hate the MK85 for this reason. It's difficult to handle and the extra care to pose it makes it hard to enjoy it as a figure

What it did do was make me question whether I really wanted the figure. The initial hobo look initially grabbed my attention, but I gradually began to realise that to set him up like that, fully laden, practically converts him into a statue.
This is true but for anyone also getting the swoop bike, there is one additional display option for all of those deluxe accessories:

I feel genuine sympathy for anyone who spent their money on the other figures, especially with Hot Toys using their mistake as part of their advertising for the figure.
With those side by side comparison pictures, they’re basically saying we finally perfected the figure and our other versions simply fell short…too bad we charged some suckers full price for them.
They need to allow the poor folks who funded the development of the real figure by buying the practice ones to send them back for trade credit to go toward the purchase of the new one.
They’d never do it, but that would be the only way to begin make it right.
While I understand the sentiment, with respect, that is a misread of the situation.

They absolutely don’t owe anyone anything. And saying so only caters to the most toxic and vocal people complaining about a choice they made as a (presumably) grown adult.

This figure should be viewed as a completely different representation of the character, following Din Djarin’s journey through Season 2. The Season 1 Beskar version has the accessories and and armor to represent the majority of Season 1, including the amazing finale.

Sure, the finishes are different. But this version does not automatically invalidate the last one. Every Iron Man armor or Batsuit does not invalidate the previous representation.

And with a publicly untested chrome plated finish, the S1 Beskar might last longer. Who knows.

As someone with the EFX helmet, ANOVOS helmet, Hot Toys Durasteel, S1 Beskar Deluxe in hand, and S2 version already pre-ordered, I will say this is a difficult armor finish to get absolutely right. But I don’t think the S1 Beskar Deluxe finish is bad at all in person.

No one who willingly bought the S1 Beskar version should feel disappointed in it compared to a figure that is far from materializing in production forum. It’s an excellent set with great accessories. Figure looks stunning set up.

Why should anyone out there feel cheated? That’s on them if they feel that way. A Season 2 version was teased. It was inevitable. If they’re diehard fans, they’ll keep both versions. If they’re only fair weather fans, then they should be less capricious and consider their purchases more carefully.

I don’t know, I didn’t say anything about wanting diecast for this. I don’t think it’s necessary.

Ideal Mando versions would be:
Season 1: v1 Mando + Grogu accessories from v2
Season 2: v3

That's the other selling point for the Deluxe, but as I'm not into vehicles I'm thinking if I get one it'll be the Regular.

It has everything except this:

HT Mandalorian & Grogu Deluxe 6.jpg

And I can't think of a way to make use of those pieces.

However, the price difference may just make it silly not to get them.

Vanth handed Din the jetpack and armour together while he was wrapping up the Krayt meat. Din must've separated them and put the armour in the second bundle. There was no sign of the gauntlets or knee armour pieces.

I’m hoping the staff will allow me to spread out his arms a little bit more from the tight V shape into a slightly wider V shape posture he used in the episode, fat suit don’t fail me now lol

Hmmm. I'm not going to lie, having all that on the back of the swoop bike does up its "wow" factor. Now you've got me considering this after I'd convinced I didn't. :gah: But where do we put Grogu in this set up? All that gear is sitting atop the two cargo/saddle bags where he'd normally go. I may need to rewatch the episode & check.

I was critical of the portrait in the promo photos but honestly it looks pretty damn good on display at Secret Base (screenshots stolen from Justin’s video):

Lol, sorry! Does look like Grogu can still fit even with the Deluxe gear piled on back. Otherwise there’s also the satchel that’s included with this Mando.

I'm happy with getting the both the previous figure, and this figure, they represent two different looks across two seasons and both come with a bunch of stuff that the other doesn't.

People need to stop crying over every little thing, they are two completely different packages.

Not sure why Hot Toys has the Grogu Carrying Bag over the opposite shoulder from how it was worn in the show, but the strap is less detailed than the actual prop and their own 1/4 scale.
