I really dont wanna spend loads of money on eBay for accessories and weapons for my figs such as the HT Aliens USCM. How can I go about buying the materials for just making molds of my own?

Is it simply a case of pouring some special hardening liquid onto say a 1/6 rifle and letting it dry to become flexible enough to peel it off in one to get your cast? And then pouring some other hardening liquid resin-thing into that cast and letting it dry and then taking it out? I dont get the process exactly.

Actually, can I just comission someone here to make replicas of parts for me? Leave the painting, I'll do that. PM me

I use Siligum from Geedo, it is cheap, you can get about 20 re-casts before the silicone breaks down, and the detail is terrific... as long as you get no air bubbles in it!
It is a silicone based gum (hence the name), mix equal parts of the blue and the white gum until even, then squash it over the item you want to re-cast. Takes about 5-10 minutes to harden.
For a lightweight plastic substitute I use Alumilite. Mix equal parts of the two bottles of liquid you get, pour into mold and either leave to set or, if you have an item which requires being hollow or curved, just hold the mold and rotate gently until it sets (about 5-10 minutes). Easily sanded and painted.
I have made full sets of armour for Predator customs, full heads, endoskeleton pats for Terminator customs... the only stuff I cant make with it is joints (it wears easily) and very thin stuff (less than 1mm thick) as it is brittle at that thickness.
PM me for any more info as it is a great way to start learning this method of customisation.
