We're going to see Coraline tomorrow and I noticed it's also playing in 3D. I've only seen some really short 3D films at Walt Disney World or museums and the image quality wasn't the best.

How are the current 3D movies? Is it hard to watch a full-length movie?

I never have a problem and think the quality is pretty damn good. I have seen quite a few the past couple of years.

Depends on the venue and where you're sitting. But Bloody Valentine looked good. I saw Bolt that way too, but I don't remember anything special about the 3D.

Richard, I saw the Coraline trailer in 3D with Bloody Valentine and it looked amazing, I'm sure it will look just as good.

We were off to the left of the screen and it still looked great!

Thanks, Israel! Of all the movies offered in 3D, this one seems to be the most appealing to me. I think the visuals on this movie are going to be hard to beat and 3D would make it even more amazing.

I watched Beoulf, Journey to the Centre of the Earth and Nightmare Before Christmas in 3D and can only say that it is amazing. It's nothing like the old 3D with red and blue glasses and you can easily watch the whole film and not get a head ache like it used to be with the old ones. Definetely watch the 3D version.

I think the Disney 3D isn't that impressive. It makes the picture pop a bit, but that's about it.

Down in Disney World they used to have great ones. It's too bad they don't put as much effort in the ones they make for theaters around the country.

How do these new 3D movies work anyways? Haven't seen a 3D movie since I was 6, or something like that. Do you still get those funky glasses?

My Bloody Valentine looked really darn good and impressed the heck out of me. Last week's episode of Chuck, not so much. I couldn't even tell the difference when I took the glasses off.

I'm not exactly sure how the glasses work, they seem kind of like sunglasses, they're just gray, and it works pretty well. It's not using like the red/blue or yellow/blue stuff to make it work, it's in full color since the way they make 3D movies is to have two cameras recording where they're right next to each other and then pointed at the same thing, then the footage gets overlayed and the glasses do something to make it work. But in some films that aren't filmed for 3D they have to go in and separate out the elements and make the 3D version.

Bloody Valentine was great (3D-wise). I've yet to see a good home solution, however.

The wife says Journey to the Center of the Earth on Blu-Ray was phenomenal in 3D, but I didn't see it.

Just saw Coraline 3D and it looked great. Not a lot of 3D effect, but the the registry was fantastic - I quickly forgot I was watching 3D at all.
