How many different sixth scale Ledger Jokers will they produce?

I'm very far from being a fan of Nolan's bat movies, in fact i really dislike Batman Begins and will probably dislike The Dark Knight just as much. That said, i really like Ledger's incarnation of the Joker from what i have seen from the trailer. I might buy a Ledger Joker figure if they will release a good one (to display next to Keaton Batman wich i will order from Shawn very soon). I'm not to impressed with the DC direct figure. What companies will probably release one?

The bust, same face as the figure, looks nothing like Ledger.

Even the Neca bobblehead looks allot more like Ledger.

Yep, Nothing beating this:

Are only real hope for a great "offical" one is Hot Toys, but they haven't even announced that they have the license.

And sadly those busts, statues, and figures from DC Direct are SCANS of Heath Ledger. The paint is just horrible and throwing it off.

I'd say one where the sculpt actually looks like Ledger would. But for sure would not beat Les's paintwork.

So how are we supposed to reply to this thread? Should I guess-timate how many 1/6 scale Jokers there will be from SS, Medi, DCD, or HT? (or Tonner...ugh)

I really hope Hot Toys will do one. I'm sure they'd hit it out of the park.

Speaking of 1/6 scale Batmen, I'm surprised the companies I mentioned above haven't done a 89 Batman or one from Returns. It's a shame. But luckily Sovereign Studios picked up the ball and ran with it.

I wish HT would do a Dark Knight Batman and Joker, hopefully they will.. but you never know.

Currently I am very happy with my own custom Ledger Joker, and while not 100% accurate to Heath, I still say that it's a damn close sculpt. And not only because it is my own, but because I spent a week hunting the net and it was the closest out there. The only real difference is the hairline and the nose. But it's still very close IMO. Structurally, it's close to Heath.

I'm not really all that happy with the DCD version (at least, the body and gear) or any of the statues or busts. I think that we have yet to see a very good representation of the character from any company. And even if we do, it won't be a paintjob that shows the level of facepaint wear we would all want.

Buttmunch is correct, DCD used computer scans of Ledger. Normally I'm not a huge advocate of using scans, but I've held the DCD Joker heads in my hand and can personally vouch that the likenesses are incredibly accurate (at least for the 1:6 figure and the bust shown above). If you're not seeing Ledger, I guarantee it's because of the paint. Then again, I don't even recognize Ledger in the actual FILM images, that makeup completely obscures his likeness (that's not doing any favors for collectible companies trying to replicate it in plastic). :)

 Andy is right on the money, you can see the character in the DCD head for sure. The scan is accurate. It's just the paint. Paint throws everything off. Any painter can vouch for me there.

It's all in the application and use of paint.

Totally agree, there are a few moments, but for the most part, Joker looks nothing like Heath. I've seen images of the 3D scans for these pieces posted around here and they look totally like Ledger, it's quite eerie actually.

I almost said the exact same thing. Holding the unpainted Ledger head in my hands, it really is eerie!

p.s. DarkArtist, I love your avatar! Been staring at my share of Rorshach images lately :)monkey3), can't wait for that movie to come out!

Thanks Andy! I am re-reading the graphic novel now, I love that series. Cannot wait for the film. I'm just happy to have that custom finished and on my shelf.

And nice tease bro, I'm very interested to see where you are going with that. :D

Again, my only hopes are with HT - a 'regular' version and a slightly more limited bank robbery version.

Unfortunately, I have serious doubts they will do any, which is why I locked in my fantastical DarkArtist full custom early. Cheers Josh! Can't wait! :monkey5

Same here, although I wish they would also make that "other" outfits from those spoiler pics :lol A regular version should come with two heads: clean make-up and messy make-up. So I could see at least four different Joker figures! :google

I really hope that HT produces a 1/6 Ledger, we know Sideshow won't be able to and the only other option is Medicom and as unimpressive as their Begins Batman was i wouldn't want anything to do with a Joker.

So for me it HT or bust on this one.

I ordered the DC Direct Ledger Joker figure, just in case (all-in-all, it's not that bad) but I really hope Hot Toys makes one.

Really? "Not that bad" sounds like you're settling...

Maybe with a DCD head repaint and it put on a 1/6 body.

Would that work anyone? Or is his noggin too big?
