Hi guys!

I've been reading the 'Show Your Shelves!' thread for the past few days and figured I should introduce myself.

I've been a collector for a while but with a few caveat. I used to live in Paris in my own studio apartment back between 2001-2004 and then I bought some statues to display proudly.
Then I moved to NY in 2005 and got married in 2007 so a lot of my statues either stayed in France or were not prominently displayed because the wife can't abide.

But now, at last!, we moved to Texas and we just bought a home so I'm going to have a media room and a game room and I CAN'T WAIT!
I've been thinking about this and planning out my displays in y heads for years.

The planning also involves a wishlist/don't-forget spreadsheet that has just reached 400 items.... all total priced at MSRP $100K+......
I'm into movies, anime, manga, comics (DC not Marvel so no Bowen)... so the statues are varied.
What I have in the plans is a lot of Star Wars, LotR, Disney, some Alien/Predator, some mecha....

I don't yet have any sideshow pieces but they will come I have a lot of random stuff and a few Gentle Giant that I got when they were doing their awesome 50% off sales a few years back.
I will post some (outdated) pics in the shelves thread.

There's a bunch of dioramas I know i want. When dinosaurs ruled the Earth, Duel of Light and Fire, Shades of Mordor, Clash of Kings, Sabotage and more....
And i'm not a huge fan of PF mostly because I think they're a bit too big so they require more space (and acceptance from the wife).
BUT I will have to have Jessica, Maleficient, Captain Hook, Palpatine
(and possibly the Luke and Vader that go with it)... I wouldn't mind the T-800 form Terminator and the RotLA or KotCS Indy......

Dude, PF rock! I thought the same thing at first and started with 12" and once I got my first PF I never turned back. Well I still get some 12" but not as much as PF.

But you know one thing i like in statues is (depending on character and franchise) the representation in spirit of the property.
So for example I don't like the Kotobukiya Vaders because their pose are too kung fu, but I LOVE the GG Kneeling Vader.
The same way the Indy PFs are nice but I love the Kotobukiya ArtFX because it shows this iconic boulder scene that just makes memories flow back.

Likewise i love dioramas because they present a full scene and sometimes I feel that PF can be a little too static, just standing there kind of.
I just saw the Willow (Buffy not the movie) in a store and it's just a bit plain.
Now that said, Jessica Rabbit, it's the perfect representation of "why don't you do like..... like some other meeeeen doooooooooooooo" so it's perfect
