Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

Me too.
It's definitely eye make up!

Infact, I think all batman movies had eye make up put on.

It was, because there was a slight screw up in Batman Returns when he rips the mask off.

Nonono, Everyone knows that the actor is wearing eye makeup, the other guy was just saying that in Batman begins and TDK, that we were supposed to suspend belief and think that the black eye effect was part of the mask.
Which can't really be answered, I like to believe Nolan batman puts the makeup on before going out.

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

considering it's never hinted or suggested that he puts make-up on in any of the films, i'd like to think it's part of the mask, too.

and Batman wearing make-up is ridiculous in and of itself. :p

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

^^^This is definitive proof right there. You see there's clearly "eye make-up" and then when Keaton rips off the cowl there's none. That's what I was saying. In real life we all know it's Black paint around the eyes.. but within the movie it's supposed to be part of the mask. Just like in the cartoon.. even though the eyes on the Batman cowl are white and a simple shape they transform depending on Batman's expression. When he's in shock the eyes magically become small circles, when he's mad they get smaller and more menacing. It's just suspension of disbelief. Like in the Bank Robbery scene where it's clear Joker's hair is brown and that he's not wearing any make-up.. then before the reveal his hair abruptly turns green. It's just.. part of the plan (of movie magic).

See what I did there?
:naughty

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

I didn't even think it was a question. I thought it was a known fact all the bat...men put black make-up around their eyes to make it appear like a mask all around them.

if you want to feel better about it though, think of it like i do...

"-I hear he wears make-up.
-Make-up?
- yeah to scare people. You know, war paint."

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

I always thought there was two take.s.. the orginal theaterical had keaton WITH black eye make up... I remeber clearly seeing it.

That makes no sense. If the theatrical release had the make up why would they swap it for the video release? Also, I remember pointing it out to my friends in the cinema that the make-up wasn't there, my friend Mark agreeing and Denis telling us to shut up as we were making a racket.:lol

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

Something amazing (maybe even cool!) just happened. Either that or I'm just bored and easily amused.

I was adjusting the pose of my TDK Batman on my shelf and I heard something drop off. I checked and true enough, one of the blades that came off from the gauntlets was missing.

I looked on my table and it wasn't there.

I looked down and saw it on the mat, sticking up almost 90 degrees, with the sharp bit sticking in the mat. Not sure if its noticeable in the pics though.

So Hot Toys make functional stuff too :D

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

Would've been a better pic/story if it had shot into you instead.

*at the hospital*

"Batman. It was Batman. His gauntlet shot out a blade and.."

*security*

:)

I think it was "Perhaps you should read the instructions first".

Loved that scene, reminds me of all the Q and James Bond conversations from the Bond movies :D

I love that part too :)

Does that mean the blades are removable?

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

blades don't come off, no. would've been cool if they could fold like in the movie though.

Wouldn't work in this scale. If they were just removable, it'd be like, what's the point, you can just lose them and there's nothing cool to it, and to make them effective shoot, the gauntlet would probably border a Mattel style and cheapen the figure.
