Hello everyone!

About myself - well, when I was a little kid I used to be a FANATIC for action figures. I would always ask my Dad "Can we go out and buy some 'guys'!" lol.

I had an impressive collection of Spawn figures, Hasbro Star Wars, and others but those two were most prominent. Of course, I took them ALL out of packaging and played with them til they couldn't be played with no more. :lol

Well a few weeks ago I found the boxes of old action figures. Nostalgia was too much to bear - so I went out to see what new (specifically) Hasbro star wars guys were out there.

Was very disappointed with the selections.

I went to a local comic/vanity store and found a Play Arts Kai Man of Steel General Zod figure. Now, I had NEVER seen anything like this before - Ages 13 and up, AWESOME package, well detailed figure. So I bought him.

Well, the rest is history. I searched on youtube for other peoples reviews of there General Zod figure and from there, found links to others and eventually Sideshow and Hot toys.

When I found their website, it was like XMAS morning all over again.

I mainly like the villain figures - I got darth vader, malgus, some predators, and boba fett all on the way. I went crazy on the website lol :horror

I plan on posing all the figures in prominent places in my room so they can be admired and I can remember all the great feeling/inspiration these characters have had on me.

I look forward to chatting with all you guys about these collectibles!!!

Welcome John .... you have got the bug! And yes brands like Hot Toys and Sideshow have some insane quality! For Adults! Also check enterbay and gentle giant

Be prepared to "go crazy" on the website a lot. Once you are infected with the Sideshow bug it never goes away... no matter how hard you try to get rid of it. :)

And :welcome1:

My parents and grandparents would always take me out to buy a "guy" too. :lol Glad I wasn't the only one that grew up using that term.

My problem was I never really stopped getting guys. They just slowly evolved into Sideshow and other high end stuff along the way. I don't get near the retail stuff I used to, but I still pick up some stuff from McFarlane and NECA and I'll always have a soft spot for Legos.

Haha! Glad to hear you called them 'guys' cause I thought I was the only one too!

Ahh, Legos. I loved those little guys. I remember as a kid I'd burrow my dad's video camera and make little "movies" with all my lego guys. There were good guys, bad guys, epic storylines - man, those were the days!

Thanks for sharing, John. That trip down memory lane can be amazing. Been there myself. Glad you found Sideshow and Hot Toys. I'm sure you will enjoy that for years to come. :)

Welcome to the board, and I hope you enjoy it, as well as collecting for years to come. :)
