I can't believe evilface is selling his 1:6 GI JOE ARAH custom figures on eBay!

I believe a fair number within the group already know of it.

No.

I am not criticizing evilface in any way. In fact, I hope he's done well monetarily with the number of custom figures he already sold on eBay.

He stated that he can always make another of the ones sold if & when he's inclined.

It just seems a bit disheartening seeing such fantastic (for the time and still to this day) 1:6 custom interpretations many within this sub-section were in absolute awe of . . . and overall still in awe.

evilface have his reasons (i.e. thinning out the collection) and that's perfectly fine. We've all been there more or less. I'd be more sad if they were irreplaceable. but again he can choose to make another for himself if & when he wants to.

Continued good fortune to him in this endeavor and very fortunate/lucky are the ones who are able to procure/win on his creations.

How dare he!

Link, please.

Man, I miss that ****a. He’d always make me lol.

Good dude. Would buy his items . . . if I were into army dolls.

Yeah, EF is still here just not very active. I snagged a few of his vinyl decals from him on here not too long ago.

I know it’s just a message board for collectibles, but I do miss the original crew that populated these boards. It was really fun. They had some real personality and character. I dunno, maybe I’m full of ****, but this place just doesn’t have the same vibe (and hasn’t for a good number of years).

I wonder how Nam is doing. Skiman. Devilof.

I know what you mean.

A lot of the prolific members are around, but they're active elsewhere in smaller niche groups or slowed down, etc.

Those members were the "heart" and "soul" here from days long gone and I see the same across other groups.

This place is still around, but a shell of its former glory days due to a number of reasons many know, but likely don't want to openly discuss for obvious reasons.

:pigfly:

Guess I'm moving on a bit from 1/6. The offerings have become stale, MCU and Star Bores, and way overpriced. Classic Spidey is the first thing I've preordered in a year and half.

I have about 10 1/6 Joes in various stages that I need to finish, but will prolly offer them up as well. Slowly. I plan on keeping my OG13 lineup an a few others.

Plus I went down a slippery slope I tried to avoid, getting back into 80's Joes. Those little bitches are pricey now. Won't go to the extent I had previously, but singles and some doubles of my favorites. Those groups have some good people in it, but also some cut throat bastards.

As for activity on here, the whole crackdown on customs, third party offerings and my decal thread getting deleted and moved to the customs board was a bum deal that irked me. Old Timers posting less. The whole tone of the site was negativity all the time. Movie section became an monotonous echo chamber. Less traffic in the Joe section and fewer peps showing their work or latest pickup.

I still pop in here every now and then. Answer PMs, creep a bit in posts. Came close a few times to responding.... Might start responding again. Now that our lord and savior Zack Snyder is about to unleash is Justice League. :p

Oh and I'm still active ....

Are you getting them loose or carded? I ask because whenever I get tempted to dabble back in carded Joes I remember that we're getting to the point where O-rings are just starting to decompose and disintegrate right in the bubble. At least with loose figures you can replace them.

It's even changed in the short time I've been here. My first year or so here was a lotta laughs even though a lot of you O.G.s had already departed for the Grey Havens or whatever.

Loose. That way you can still have fun with them and take pics. At least the ones that aren't extremely fragile like Zap.

I prolly will reproduction cards for Beggars Canyon and recard the 1982 lineup. No way am I going to pay the absurd prices for original carded figures. lol

Smart man. Yeah I paid about a hundred bucks for this 1985 SE on custom card last year that looks exactly like an original. In fact if it wasn't listed as a custom recard I'd literally never know the difference. I can't imagine ever plunking down $1500-2000 for an actual vintage MOC SE with an O-Ring that could decompose at any moment.

I know right, nothing beats the original art and mold. My favorite action figure of my childhood. I hated how the 25th anniversary card art gave him that lame wagging finger, lol.

Snake Eyes did rock the "Ford Finger" in the 80's on the first 2 cards. Still my favorite but I prefer classic commando.

These will sell quick as G.I. Joe is happening again and a bunch of new things in the works. These customs are amazing. I have my six core Sideshow main Cobra figures left and I love them... they did some great work back in the day

Best of luck to your auctions, Evil.

The old Sideshow Joe days on this forum were a blast. I sold off all of my Joes a few years ago to really cut down on the collection and re-focus. Does anyone know whatever happened to King Darkness? That dude was always a good guy around here.
