I hate the brake dust as well. But I don't have anywhere near that much trouble getting it off.

There should be no brake dust what so ever on a rally bred Subaru WRX STi.

On a car like this you should never have to use the brakes, that is what the handbrake is for !

:lol :lol :lol

The handbrake turn is a driving technique used to deliberately slide a car sideways, either for the purpose of negotiating a very tight bend quickly, or for turning around well within the vehicle's own turning circle.

The driver starts by using steering input to transfer weight to the outside tires; the handbrake is then used to lock the rear wheels, thus upsetting the adhesion between the tires and the road surface. With practice, the car can be placed accurately by releasing the handbrake and accelerating the vehicle.

Hope this helps :p :p

I feel your pain...On my '05 vette that I sold, I never seen so such build up and discharge in my life on any vehicle in such a short time period of driving.

Replaced the OEM with Ceramic pads and that ended the dust PERIOD!!! They are well worth it!!!

yeah for sure. when it comes time to replace the brakes i'm definitely going aftermarket. the stock pads are awesome, but too dusty... as show int the pics. that was after 1 week (130 miles) without cleaning. i'm also gonna get some stainless braided lines. don't know if your Vette came with them, but they are like HID bulbs--- once you drive with them you can never go back.

I couldn't even wait that long to replace them. I made it to maybe 1200 miles. My wheels looked about as dirty as yours with less than 10 miles on them (and they squeaked with light breaking). They had great stopping ability, but I think the cross-drilling had something to do with the discharge and etc.....

If you have the chance or are so inclined, try Zaino products. I used to use Meguiars and a variety of others, but after using Zaino I gave all of it away.
