I would like your opinion and help!

I am having a problem.


I am addicted to collecting 1/6 scale figures!!!!!


My wallet (and wife) have had it with me!

I have a list of figures on my "Wish List", but I need to space them out over time. But, I want to make sure that I am careful to buy them in the right order.

As you look at the following list, use your intuition and experience to put them in an order that will be most cost effective. i.e. Those that will go up in price ought to be bought now. Those that will go down in price ought to bought later.

I realize that no one can predict the future and I wont hold anyone responsible for questionable advice that steers me wrong. I just want some input.

Here's the list:

1) DX02 Batman (on preorder from BBTS)

2) Hot Toys' Bank Robber Joker [$138.88 shipped from Amazon right now] PURCHASED

3) Joker Nurse outfit (to go with second BRJ head). [$28.98 buy it now on Ebay] PURCHASED

4) A Hot Toys True Type figure to go with the nurse outfit. (maybe Narrow Shoulders although I cant find one anywhere!) PURCHASED

5) Dr. Henry Jones Sr. by Sideshow [$96.38 shipped at Amazon, and up for auction right now on Ebay.] PURCHASED

6) ROTLA Indiana Jones by Sideshow [$76.48 shipped on Amazon] Price lowered on Amazon to $66.48 shipped. And... PURCHASED!

7) Hunchback of Notre Dame by Sideshow [I used to see this for $19.99 plus shipping on ebay all the time. Now it's up to $39.99 including shipping, so that's gone up about $10 or so.]

8) Hot Toys' Marcus Wright body, pants, shirt, and boots only. No head, no jackets. I already have him and I want to use the second headsculpt to pose them as twins. [Ebay does sell this item and a couple are up for auction in the near future.] Got a TT and clothes all separately... And... PURCHASED!

9) Mr. Bean by Enterbay [$159.10 shipped on Amazon] Will only buy in the future if I find a crazy deal ($70 or less).

10) Superman by Hot Toys. (This figure doesn't exist yet so... )

11) Kato, Green Hornet by Enterbay (Don't have strong feelings about this one. I would like to have at least one enterbay figure, and if I had to chose one only it would be Mr. Bean, but Kato does look cool!) [$201.50 shipped is a bit steep at Amazon.] Will only buy in the future if I find a crazy deal ($100 or less).

Get the stuff that is scarce sooner and the others later. Bank Robber Joker, Henry Jones Sr., ROTLA Indy, Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Mr. Bean will still be around and not difficult to pick up in the future.

My intent is to spread the purchases out over the next couple years.


I'm worried that some of these will be super expensive in a year and a half, or simply wont be available anymore.

On the other hand some may have been produced in such large numbers that they will continue to go down in price.

Get the Bank Robber and Henry Jones Sr. Future classics, and if you need justification say "hey HJ SR. there's only 1750 in the world, it's limited," the HT BR, well buy her flowers and watch a chick-flick with her.

Hey maglor your putting to much salt on the popcorn buddy, In collecting you can't have everything at once. You try to make your best pick and go with it. Collecting is like waiting on the bus. You may miss the 1st one, but another one is coming down the street. Meaning via Ebay, Comic Cons, Here, and etc. You will see it another time. And somtimes at the same price or lower. I've been doing the statue and Hi- End figure thing since 1989.

I'd say stick to the Hot Toys and Enterbay stuff.
This may not be the right forum to say this on, but...
I think people are getting sick of the Sideshow stuff.
The prices going up but not the quality, unfortunately,
is becoming the norm and a lot of people are not happy about it.
So I think there will be plenty of opportunity to get the sideshow
figures for less in the future.

On Enterbay: If I had to chose between Kato & Mr. Bean (I have Bean), I think
I would get Kato. You can get him on ebay for less than Amazon.
Also, The R type body on bean, not really that great. The articulation
is subpar(feet are the worst). I snapped a foot off because I thought
the feet articulation was better. The BL 3.5 body(which I've had) on Kato is heavy,
strong and has the new and improved foot articulation.

Bro, I'd say don't stress yourself out with the list.
A collection is only as good as the collector's love for it.

Get what's the cheapest available right now, and work your way through the list that way.

It's gonna be hard, but I think I will wait for BR Joker to come down in price even more. (I might grab the nurse ourfit right away though since it's cheap... I can't wait to have a Dark Knight Joker display with all for Joker incarnations!)

So I'm getting a mixed message here. Should I make a priority of HJ SR, or not?

Very good to know! I think I will probably wait until I get some kind of crazy good deal on a used one of either of these. Not really hot for either one, just would like to own one enterbay figure (and I do love Mr. Bean )

Hey Maglor, I just wanted to point out that Henry Jones Sr. Exclusive is available for Second Chance on Sideshow's site for about the same price you stated. Worth getting the exclusive, IMO. Of course you could also interpret the fact that it's not sold out as an indication that it may be around at a later time and therefore can be put to the bottom of the list!
