I agreed to buy a superb David from Lost Boys bust that was on ebay a few weeks ago from Iceman-1. He responded to emails within a few hours while we were negotiating and he promised it would be posted on Saturday 3rd January or Monday 5th at the latest. He also said that the tracking number would be sent straight away too. You can probably guess the rest.
Two weeks later... no tracking number, no bust. The first excuse was that the post office was closed so he couldn't get the tracking number. The second excuse was that he was busy so he would ask his wife to send the number. Too busy to send a 13-digit tracking number???
Anyway, does anybody know him? Have you bought from him before? Why such a poor service? Has he stolen my money?
Any help and advice would be appreciated.

I would say get onto paypal/ebay as quickly as possible people like this will string you along with weak excuses until your period is up to lodge a complaint. Believe me I know, A couple of believable excuses and few days between each email the time gets away. I haven't dealt with that seller you mentioned though

Paypal=Best bet.

File a complaint with Ebay, then go straight to Paypal. Don't mess around with these kind of people. I'd give the seller 10 days from the date of purchase. If still no answer, then proceed with Paypal.

Cheers both.
I did in fact do just what you suggested a few days ago. I filed a dispute and then gave it 24 hours before escalating it to a claim, thinking that it might spur him into action. It did not.
Looking at his feedback, he hasn't left feedback on ebay for a while and it looks like he is a slow shipper. All this adds up to a poor service in my eyes.
I didn't actually buy it on ebay as I am in the UK and the auction was restricted to the US. I emailed him and he said to send payment to him direct and then he would end the auction. However, I am confident that Paypal will resolve it, if he does not. It's funny how the responses are quick when negotiating the sale and then nothing as soon as the payment is sent!

You have little to no protection if you bought 'off' of the eBay marketplace. They state it in the help/info/rules.

But I hope you have luck.

Yes the slightest deviation from their rules and they won't help, I used "Buy it now" & I struggled for them to do anything
