Ichi the Killer & Kakihara WIP

Here's a repaint of both Ichi & Kakihara from Takashi Miike's sick sick film Ichi the Killer. These are both Medicom figres. Although not a fan of Medicom's smaller scale, I like that they had the guts to take on an unusual property. Cudos to Medicom.

Both will have the eyes redone, as well as gloss coated. Ichi will also have a couple of tears & possibly a runny nose as per the film.


Any comments, critisisms etc are always welcome

the rings in kakiharas cheeks are sculpted right?
ive been on the fence about getting these two from an ebay dealer for a while,if i remember its 300 for both kakihara and the movie version of ichi

Yes, the rings are sculpted in. The clear coat is drying as I type this. Glossed the eyes & made Ichi crying (he has to). Was considering putting cut down saftey pins in kakihara's hands to like like the stillettos he uses, however I didn't want the kit to be dangerous, I've got a couple of nieces I'd rather not hurt.

The guy on eBay is likely the same one I got mine from. He is a fantastic & prompt seller. Can get Kakihara alone, but only Ichi as a set.

The standard paint is kinda horrible other than the color of the original sculpt. If you do get them, word or warning, the Medicom bodies seem to be fragile. I have a Balzac, Atom Age Vampire in 308 (Bagman) that more or less fell apart. Careful posing em

Thanks for the positive feedback. Hope to get shots. of the complete builds within the next few days. If I didn't like Kakihara's suit so much, I'd have chosen the red plaid suit to bodge

I managed to get ahold of the uncut version. Um, Miike is unquestionably demented. Surprised a production company had the guts to get behind it. Sure couldn't see a N American company do it.

Glad to see Medicom produce the fig as well as the Neighbor No. 13 which I plan on also re-painting (love the movie)

Seen the Ichi prequel? Not Miike but still not bad
