I'm thinking about a cinemaquette Alien

I am really impressed with the CM Alien,and I'm debating getting it.I was going to get the wolf 1/1 bust,but not sure on what would be the best choice.I know once I do make the big purchase I will be out of collecting at least until next year.I might be able to do the occasional purchase but that's it.

For what it is worth, I have this piece and I love it. It's one of the best pieces I've ever picked up. It even passed the girlfriend test. She loves it too and is impressed with the level of detail.

That being said, I'd hate you to have to give up so much over the next year. If you are a Giger fan, though, go for it.

i know i'd like to see what their predator is gonna look/cost. yeah, but if its one of those "grails" you might not have the chance to get it later

It's a great piece. I don't have one but it was interesting to hear about how the president of Cinemaquette visited Giger in his Swiss castle and photographed and measured the suit that Giger has. Apparently Giger also chose the pose and had a lot of input into how the figure was made (not to mention the original design).

don't they include some of this in the packaged documentation?? i wish i could drop the cash for some of the bigger items.

I'll hold off on the Wolf 1/1 bust for a little while longer.I just hope I don't regret it.

Now all I have to do is wait for my tax refund to arrive.

I think it's a great piece, and the fact that Giger was involved makes it so much more special.
Having said that, personally, I wouldn't drop that kind of cash on a collectible. I guess if you view it more like a statue, a piece of art, then it makes sense.
But if it's just for the coolness of the alien, I say buy the NECA figure and the Medi figure and wait for whatever it is that HT comes up with.

I had it but sold it because it looked too thin for me....not as accurate as it should have been IMO.

I also thought it looked like he was trying to tap dance or something....I would have preferred a more static pose.

Still a pretty nice piece overall though.

i've heard nothing but good things about it. i saw it at SDCC and the thing is huge!! i'm just hesitant to drop that kind of money on it when the NECA alien that will be coming out will look very very very good at a fraction of the cost.

Now the cinemaquette predator - THAT's a different story... i may be persuaded to buy that, especially after seeing it in person - by FAR the coolest thing i saw at SDCC.
