2 many Gr8 Statues!!!
I am thinking of canceling my order of Obi-wan Mythos and getting the Iron man maquette instead. Because I just got CA PF and 1/4 scale is so much better. Obi-wan is 1/5th btw. So if you own it, in terms of awe and beauty would you rate it? Thanks, this should be helpful to me.

I don't have it so i can't rate it but i'd suggest taking into account that there'll be an avengers armour maquette and IM3 armour maquette at some point & depending on your preference it might be worth holding out for a while.

Your post made me go look on ebay to see if I was missing any deals you might have come across and sure enough I come across this.

Does it look like a recast to you guys? Color looks pretty ****ty.

As the for the real maquette. It's one my most sought out items. I can't believe I passed on it. Now. I'll never be able to afford those prices they are asking for one.

Yea, it's from Thailand too. And he never says SideShow Collectibles or gives a serial number. And you're right the paint is all wrong.

To everyone that voted, can you explain why it's so good? I have until Monday to cancel Obi-wan. In the videos I didn't think Captain America was epic in pics and videos but in person...everything is PERFECT and the paint job and size...it's one of my grail now.

Anyone elaborate on what makes it great?

Why is it good?

It's pretty much the definitive 1/4 scale representation of IM and straight from Legacy. Sideshow gave us the MK1 and MK6 and skipped over everything else (for now).

There was a period were folks didn't want this piece because of paint issues and now you can't find one. :dunno

Personally, I prefer WM over the MK6 (I have both).

I really don't think it's that great. I voted a 7. It's a nice piece, sculpt an paint are great. I just don't see the value it in. Speaking of value, I will be ordering the next Iron Man maquette that's released, wether its a Iron Man 3 or Avengers/Avengers 2 because I'm just not in love with this piece as others are. Do you think the value will go down after another Iron Man maquette is announced?

Why because of the paint issues?

Doubtful, unless they take a page from HT and reissue it. :rotfl.

I think folks that missed out, may settle for the MK6 LSB, which looks pretty nice.

Yes. The paint job is wrong and the seller is a known recaster.

:exactly: Well known recaster on eBay and the paint job looks awful! Iron Man 3 will be released in a months time so im sure SSC will have some more Iron Man goodies coming our way...and yes i do mean in 1/4 scale :wink1:

I own it and I give it an 8. The piece is one of the best adaption of the movie armor on the current market. It is 1/4 scaled, has light up function, a dynamic pose, a decent base, and excellent weathering on the paint job. Not to mention it is a good stand alone piece or pairs well with the WM Maquette and other Avenger pieces. I didn't give it a 10 because no statue is perfect and we will never see 100% of collectors give unanimous love for a piece. The statue had chin paint app issues and the Legacy Effects influenced price tag was little ridiculous. If you're looking to own a definitive piece from the Iron Man movie franchise, I'd wait to see the new releases. If you're looking to own a hall of armors, well I think its a great addition to your collection.

I rated it an 8. It's a great statue and a must for IM fans. :rock

That's an excellent picture of the Mark VI maquette.

I own one, and am a huge iron man fan, so I can't imagine not having it.

That being said, I find the intensity of the paint a little on the dull side, and in low light, he doesn't stand out as much as I would expect.

But this picture is really beautiful and shows him off to his true potential I think.

I voted 9 (hey, nothing is perfect, and I have to leave room at the top in case something better comes along later).

This is probably the best piece in my collection. People who has seen my collection are always drawn to the Iron Man (and I've got a Hulk Maq now, so that's saying something). the light up feature is great. The detail in the sculpture is extremely nice. I can't find any paint issues on mine...I love it.
