So 50-100 yrs ago, people think we would be traveling/commuting on flying automobile/balloon daily. Virtual reality, space travel, and eventually robots; but instead we're getting on hybrid/electric vehicles, reality shows, climate change, and financial crisis.

So what's in the future..?

solar algae farming for food?

Pomosexuality?

zombie apocalypse?

yea, who cares?

I don't care about advances in medical science or space travel. I just want my damn hoverboard.

We grow older. The first person who will reach an age of 130 - 150 years has already been born today.
Humanity as a species doesn't evolve anymore. The next logical step in evolution is to combine the human body with technology. So that's what we'll get in the future. Cyborg geriatrics.

I love the idea of cybernetics, but, at the same time, I don't. I think artificial eyeballs with 16K resolution, optical zoom, and nightvision and infrared filters wired into the optic nerve would be awesome, but, as someone living in the 21st Century, hackers are everywhere. Assuming people did wind up with cybernetic parts, would you really want to chance some geeky punk making you go blind or making you do things that you didn't have control over or want to do?

Technology is one thing, but melding it with biology is a slippery slope. Personally, I think cloning needs to catch on. I'd love nothing more than to go to the doctor's office on my 80th birthday and have my consciousness transferred over to my 25 year old self grown specifically for me.

Improved batteries and less gasoline.
Cable, dish & the internet will become a single entity connected to almost everything you use.
Paper and coin will be replaced with something simpler.
Textbooks will disappear. (at least in richer school districts)
Gen X president.
Medical science will improve, only to fight new problems.
Space exploration will become a priority.

War, famine, pestilence and death are constants that'll only lessen when competition diminishes.

And Sideshow will still be pushing delivery dates without notice or explanation...

U.S. will eventually get rid of the pennies if we're smart. Canada already did. Digital money is the way of the future but I certainly don't trust it for sure. Some hacker got hold of my check account and started charging a month ago. Bank eventually cleared it but still not safe knowing I rarely use it.

That's happened to me as well. Thieves will always find a way to get what they want, just gotta be vigilant. One of lifes other constants.

Odds are there has already been someone who has lived to 130.

The problem is its hard to verify birth records from that long ago, especially when a lot of longevity claims come from countries with poor record keeping.
