Glad someone’s doing the cap- even though it probably won’t fit over any sculpted hair heads and would be a really dumb idea to put it on the InArt rooted head.

I’m actually preferring the PT set over Topo- especially PT’s backpack.
Topo will probably have the more accurate boots and the stitching looks nice but, the only thing Pat are letting me down on is the colour of the zipper.

Shame HT didn’t bother putting 100% effort into the Tobey or Garfield Spider-Mans. Maybe Spidey just isn’t a popular enough character…
Or maybe it’s because InArt don’t have any Marvel licenses so HT has no licensed competition in that field and therefore no incentive to try.
It's definitely a shame for those Spidey fans, but I don't think it's possible for them to put 100% effort into every release. I think we all hate it when HT is lazy, and recycles, but they consistently put out bangers.
My guess is that they have different artists/teams on different releases, and that accounts for the varying quality from each figure. They seem to walk to the beat of their own drum, and I wish they actually paid more attention to the competition. If they were following Inart as closely as others staunchly believe, we'd be seeing announcements for LOTR and Dune, especially the latter, just to flex, especially since are capable of doing an entire line.

It’s hardly difficult to follow InArt considering how slow they are with announcements and releases.

There’s simply too much correlation with HT’s choices reading as reactions to InArt’s arrival and figure announcements to deny that HT has very much been directly influenced and pushed to improve their practices by InArt.

From the announcement of the Artisan line- kicking it off with Ledger Joker, announcing a 2.0 TDKR Bane early on to hurt InArt sales, doing away with the concept of the DX line so every figure now has rolling eyeballs, Jedis all get USB lightsabers as standard now too, Howard appearing in a video to sell us on their new leap in quality just like how Viper does, HT’s proto photography also completely changed to mirror InArt’s classier, more minimalistic style that doesn’t rely on heavy photoshop and busy backgrounds- instead looking more like a costume screen test or magazine photoshoot, video promotions for figure announcements, and of course the thorough revisions made to The Batman figure so it could better compete with InArt.

Add all that up and it’s not merely speculation to say HT are paying close attention to InArt; it’s highly probable assessment based on deductive reasoning.

better look at the Topo set, but it's important to note, there's no indication so far they'll be including the hands with the bandages. I'm leaning towards Present Toys.

This is one of those times where they are probably keeping everything close to their chest in order to avoid anymore issues. The problem is most of us collectors are waiting for this to drop already. Let's see how it goes this month and see if it will finally ship and if they show any first official images of the figure.
All i ask for is like a update that what they have done. Not even the photos. Is it finished atleast? Like just put that official photos are coming soon like Gandalf

I like the details on the Inart sculpt more, but I think Hot Toys captured a better silhouette
I have the HT one and it’s very good. But tailoring and proportions wise, HT won’t come close to Inart. Inart are like shrunk down persons literally. But the cowl is a significant factor and i am not sure why Inart are not able to get it correct. I want Inart to win because when done correct, it’s literally art in person holding them. My minimum expectation is either one of Batman or rooted Bruce Wayne turns out like the advertised prototype.

Also this Inart making HT better in some cases, it’s true. But generally hot toys is a psycho company who are unpredictable. Their selina was a total letdown which is dc and probably inart will do it down the line whereas their latest scarlet witch was even better than the prototype which is a marvel license and not related to inart

They say they’re making ‘hands’ so, if Topo hold screen accuracy in high regard, that should only mean wrapped hands.

Looks like they’re also making the red cap so… I guess we’ll know when we know.

True, but I think they showed unwrapped hand sculpts before. I thought maybe they were just going off those behind the scenes pictures without the bandages. Who knows.

That's what I think will be done. They'll post when it's ready to go like Gandalf

People were saying that it’s the same proto. But actually it isn’t. The problem is with their headsculpt. They are not able to get it correct with that they have advertised. They have fixed the final version on last year February itself. They are struggling to get that level of details. Attached the reference is the vegas event proto which is much better with all the stubble and they want that level of detail.

This is a do/die situation for them since they are directly competing with HT for this one and hope they have perfected the final product. If not, they will probably delay again and they cannot afford to compromise.
At some point, you got to set the pencils down. The test is over and time for the grades.

Stupid question, but has inart shown either of the exact prototype in any event? What i am trying to say is this might be 3d rendered or photoshopped and not the actual one like Superman which they showed before announcing the figure

I believe the first prototypes was shown in their very first teaser video, which didn’t look like their advertised photo at all. They had another proto in Vegas which wasn’t good either, and so they revised it to the one on the right. The one shown in Chinajoy and Wonderfest looks like the newest prototype. And to be honest that’s probably their final so let’s see how it will turn out.

Yeah that’s the problem. They probably are trying very hard to produce the “after” photo figure which is a pinnacle. If they manage to do so, they will go to a level where people including me will blindly trust them and give them our money.

If it’s less than 80 percent likeness from the advertised one, then they will have to nail Harry Potter and Superman to get that trust back

I honestly don’t have high expectations that it will even improve the prototypes that we saw last event. It looks like the same sculpt but the redness around the eyes are less. Which isn’t bad but as you were saying it could be photoshop.

Superman and Harry Potter, especially Ron looks promising. But after Batman I hope Aragorn turns out amazing as well.

But it’s the end of March and my hype is slowly fading already with this figure. I really hope when the final photos come out it will blow HT out of the water and overall impress everyone.

I hope next week is the final time they show it..

If they don’t release them before April first week, i think the hype will completely die. And as for other figures especially Aragorn, they didn’t change anything in the sculpt and i guess Aragorn has all the chances to be best 1/6th figure ever beating Gandalf

I look forward to seeing how the final production piece looks, I've got a all in and premium set on order so my poor wallet! 😂😂

Interesting sliding base I look forward to seeing what that is?

ive given topo all the notes i had on drifter so i hope they dumpster on present toys

theyre basing off of the omaya backpack which happens to be the closest (assuming the production company in charge of the props modified it to some degree), but one thing i found is that there was some patch on the back of his backpack and that was one thing i considered askign thema bout but without any true image of what the print looks like, likely wont be included

ive also asked them to change the water bottle to a tumblr like the one in pictures

in their post

"Batman 2022 drifting suit, the first edition of backpack, the size will be bigger. Details are being revised. Riding boots are large basic ok. Add details, the hand type will add a pair of gauze hands. If you have any suggestions, please welcome everyone to put forward. Thank you"

So, when they say “this month,” do they mean March or April? Cause we got, like, a little over a week left in this month…:lol
