I feel like I'm taking crazy pills reading Justin's comment section. People are claiming this doesn't look like Viggo at all? That's insane. This is easily figure of the year so far.

The rooted def needs to be futzed, but once it is - it looks good. It's amazing how simply moving the the sides of his hair closer inward changes his forehead so much to help the likeness.

I actually prefer the sculpted hair, i think the sculpted hair looks really great, anybody who went for that instead should be very happy with that choice. Zero futzing needed, Viggo right out of the box.

I cancelled my order months back so I no longer have skin in this game. I had ordered the sculpted hair version and based on Justin's review I would have been very happy with that decision.

I hope Legolas gets his PO sooner than later. I'd like to lock that one in, and begin the year-long wait for the production piece. I fear I won't have Legolas on the shelf until 2027.

As much as the light box doesn’t give the figure justice, Justin’s poses will be the best we will get. ( Compared to other “influencers) These looks great imo.

And for the rooted and sculpted head sculpts they have to be 100% the same, it’s probably the lighting plus better volume of the sculpted that makes it look better in certain angles.

I fixed the futzing for the rooted. When we get our copy, the biggest difference that would make the rooted look great is the thickness of the hair especially on top. Out of the box the hair may be a bit too flat, and of course the bangs being too far apart.

The eyelids looked too red and the eyes themselves strangely intense on the head sculpt in Justin’s video. But I trust it was just an unintended effect of the strong lighting.

Justin actually perfectly explained why the sculpts can appear different, which is down to light passing through the rooted hair as opposed to the sculpted hair which not only frames the face in a very specific manner but also casts more shadow onto the face, highlighting his cheekbones etc.

I think simply brushing a bit of water onto the parting of his hair, pinching it upwards and directing it forwards will be all that’s required.

I’m amazed at how good this looks, even in a Justin review. Think I’m done watching reviews now. I want the next time I see this figure to be when it’s in my hands.

Big benefit to the sculpted is that it falls down his forehead and brow at a consistent shape. They're the exact same sculpt. Not sure why people still think differently. When you have his hair brushed to the side on the rooted, you expose more of his eyebrow and forehead, giving you the illusion that his face is wider. It's what we've been seeing from various photos depending on how the hair is futz.

Justin's audience is used to substandard Hot Toys garbage. They've just seen Aragorn like they crawled out of their little caves and got blinded by the light.

I'm worried about the QC with Aragorn. So many parts.. So much that could go wrong. This one will need a thorough inspection.

Just been seeing a lot of people saying the hair came out too wide spread on the forehead compared to the prototype / sculpted version.

I don't think it's an issue. Would be better if they styled it a little closer out the box though.

Yes, I watched Justin's review before catching up on the last 10 pages of the thread and that was the thing about the rooted version that jumped out at me. I agree with others that some quick futzing to have more hair fall forward and give his forehead a narrower look should fix that. But if InArt decides to do it for us I'm good with that too lol.

Both versions look fantastic IMO. Seeing the side by side comparison with Gandalf did concern me however. Down the road when we to add more Fellowship to the collection will the rooted hair come across too “dollish”? I have to admit when I saw this image I saw dolls. Individually displayed with proper futzing they will look high end. Together may leave another impression. I could be wrong. I’m just throwing things out there…….

Hard to keep up with everything posted here so if this is already posted, I might have missed it. But here's another video review from an overseas collector, and he at least mentions that the hair could be pulled forward to cover the forehead better. Which I think he does a little bit, in some of his posing pictures.



I think that's really my only complaint and why he looks off. Which should be easily remedied by some light futzing. The rest looks incredible.

Yeah I thought the same thing too when I saw the pair together. I'm not sure what it is but the likeness is all but lost in the Viggo sculpt during this segment of the video.
