My InArt Gandalf arrived! WOW, I'm really impressed! Here's some comparison shots with my Asmus Gandalf. I was on the fence about keeping the Asmus, but both are great. I'll put the Asmus with my Hobbit figures, and put the InArt with the Fellowship. However, the Sideshow hat is still my favorite. Keeps its shape with no futzing.

Yeah, the upgraded Asmus figure holds its own I would say! I intend to hold onto mine as well. Maybe eventually once I start replacing the entire fellowship I’ll try selling the Asmus collection as an entire set.

That’s the Sideshow hat you’re featuring there? I have two Asmus hats and I really like that version of the hat, so I intend to use it for both Asmus and InArt. It’ll take forever for me to get the InArt figure since I preordered from Kit last June. It was like the last call before preorders permanently ended.

@Stephen Gentile Is that material behind the figures your display shelf? Where did you find the material for it? It looks awesome! To achieve a similar effect I made a photography box by taping together poster board from a craft store, lol. You’ve inspired me to go ahead and construct one made of more durable, higher end materials.

Here’s what I use to photograph figures.

I totally agree with that!

Yes that's the Sideshow hat. To my eye it has the best size and shape.

The background is just 2 panels of formica laminate that originally came packed with the Ikea Besta glass doors I have. Panels are white on the other side. Only use them to photograph my figures.

Okay, cool. I can glue some formica laminate to particle board. Thanks!

I've done this with the deluxe coat joker as mine felt a little cross eyed and the movement was a bit restricted. It appears to the be same mechanism, and if it is then yeah you totally can. I'm glad i did that to my joker even though it can be a little bit of a pain in the *** to get in there with my fat little fingers and move them myself.
I too have large hands. I took a pair of needle nose pliers, wrapped the tips in gause, then dipped them in plasti-dip. I use those for tight spaces on "gentle detailed work"

Have any UK collectors received their Gandalf from PAF yet?
I'm still waiting on my Nazgul I ordered from them two years ago!! They've been ignoring my messages since August...

They used to be fast and reliable until they starting using sea freight. Never again.

Finally getting a chance to unbox Gandalf
Open the Kit box, and there's the Inart box, and it's got the corner protectors, but they're taped on under InArt tape and I'm like, "How do I get these corners off without tearing up the brown box? Oh boy this is gonna decrease the value of the item if the brown shipper has been ripped off by the tape"
So, I just slice the tape up, and open it up ... ANOTHER BROWN BOX!!!!

What the heck?!?! They had protection for the brown shipper!!! Now I know why this figure costs so much.

But the thing that has already blown me away is that when you cut open the top of the box, and slide the figure box out ... they put the figure box in upside down, so when you slide it out of the brown shipper, the figure box is right side up.

I'm already astounded and I haven't even seen the figure yet.

I can't believe you damaged the brown box that holds the brown shipper. The figure is effectively worthless now without both layers.

Kit needs to start tripling up at this point. Just boxes all the way down.

Just 45 minutes of Russian nesting doll style unboxing before you even get to the figure.
