my bud keeps saying he's had to cancel alot of ss orders because they are covering a much wider product line and ss is producing many different pf, 12", dios, maquettes and comiquettes at an alarming rate. i have to agree reading all these posts about people getting too many notices at once and having to cancel. do you think ss is moving too fast for the average collector? seems to me that a guy or girl collecting just one specific line or specific line format would even have a hard time keeping up. factor in other great products from companies like gentle giant, bowen, attakus, hard hero, etc. and you are maxing out the card quickly. thoughts?

I started just Star Wars and that was easy enough, then got LOTR. That made it a little harder. Now Shaun of the Dead will make it a little harder still. Eventually you either pick and choose or suck it up. The more releases mean the better SS is doing a business. As for other companies, well I'm really only getting MR's Muppets and select Hasbro 3 3/4 stuff. Not too hard there just short on funds so Animal is getting the axe soon.

I love how people complain because there aren't enough announcements and then complain when there's too much coming at once.

People need to know their limitations. If you have to cancel items because you can't afford them, that's your problem. You certainly can't blame SSC. They release product when it's time. They don't go around asking everyone if they have the money for them and then decide to release them.

I agree with everything you have said. Too many things come out way to often for me to keep up with what I want. So I have to limit it drastically.

I agree with Batty. PPO's/Cancellations/Auction/Acquisitions are all part of the life of a collector. I don't think it underlies any sort of disturbing trend. :lecture

the question was do you think ss is moving more quickly in their releases than ever before. say compared to a year or two back?

Well, two years ago they didn't have the SW license and they weren't distributing HT. Take those away and I guess you could say they'd be like they were then.

They aren't moving too quickly in their releases, they're expanding. Just like any good company.

Undoubtedly, but there whole product offering has grown. The Star Wars line is rolling at full force, they've introduced new product lines within existing licenses, they're expanding on distribution partnerships. Basically, SSC is growing into a collectibles giant within the U.S., at least in terms of offerings, and bottom line is, we each have to handle our finances and collecting however best fits us, because SSC will continue it's business as it's going. Yeah people are cancelling now because of a seeming onslaught, but there are Wait Listers right behind them eager to get pieces that will now. SSC can only offer things, it's up to the collector what they can and will get for pieces.

Not to mention that figures were $20 cheaper 2 years ago.

Bring on more PFs and 1:1 busts --- we can never have enough. :monkey5:monkey5:monkey5
