Hi All

I was looking thru the Indiana Jones Magazines the other day and came across a pic of Indy in a deep sea divers suit and was intrigued by the picture.
After doing some more searching I came across Indiana Jones and the Shrine of the Sea Devil comics and saw that Indy used a deep sea suit, After seeing the pictures I decided that I would give this a go as it is such a different look for Indy.

Once I put the whole figure and base to together to see what it would like I pulled everything apart and painted and weatherd it using Vallejo, Games Workshop paints and pastels.

RECIPE

1: Indiana Jones - Indy's body and head are from Sideshow Toys, the gloves are from a Dragon the divers helmet, The diving suit, shoulder plate and metal souls and weight blocks are from the old GI JOE figures.
The lead weight blocks are actually plastic I just repainted them to look like lead, The harness is made of leather and 1/6 scale buckles.

The knife and sheath are from Dragon and the boots souls are real lead weights from the GI Goe figure and the ankle braces are made from left over material and 1/6 scale buckles.
The diving helmet was missing the handle so I used some 1/72 scale pieces from the bits box to make one, The rope is from also from the bits box.

2: Base - The base is from the hardware shop from the craft section and the ships decking was done by using balsa wood and then I scribed the blank sections into it. The crate was made from scraps of balsa wood which I got from my scrap box and was built I scribed panels into it.

That is a great looking custom. The diving suit looks great on the Indy figure!

awesome work there. I'm planning a Cthulhu shrine similar to the golden idol one. I'll have to post it when I'm finished.

Fantastic as always, Ron. I'm sure I've got some of that set somewhere, so you've inspired me to venture up into the attic!

This is pretty cool.. and original... fun idea and well executed.. I may have to dig up those old Dark Horse Indy comics and read a few this afternoon...

Really cool. Think of all the adventures he had between each movie.

Wow, hemble! I really love this one. Something about that old diving suit and the way you set the whole thing up just screams Indy to me.

Really, really love this one. :rock

They're probably worse than you remember.

They released 3 last year that weren't too bad though. Tomb of the Gods, Adventures of Indy vol 1 & 2.

Ever since Raiders, imagining the different places Indy could go, I always thought they'd have Indy in that kind of dive rig for an underwater sequence... and they never did. Shame -- it looks awesome!

Same here---like "Artic Indy" for instance. Here's hoping another film doesn't waste these great opportunities.

I have been wanting to just use artistic license and do an "arctic Indy" custom... potentially fun project...

Hi All

Besides the natural choices of indy german, arab, artic, diver are there any pics around of him in other outfits?

Ron

Well, there's comedy Indy changing into trousers that are far too short in The Arms of Gold:

Or this variation of cold weather mountaineering gear:
