Interest in a 1/6 D9 Prawn??? Updated 12/28

Hey guys... Looking at a big project for next year. I am looking to making a 1/6 articulated Prawn.

If Hot Toys does not release one that is... But at this point I doubt anyone will be picking up the license.

So, looks like I found a sculptor who is perfectly suited for this kind of character.

I estimate the cost of this being in the $200 to $400 range. That sounds like a lot to some but given the work involved that's what I would need to look at selling them for.

Probably a 10 piece run. Maybe more if the demand is there.

Anyway - NO deposits needed, (just realized I left "no" out before I was not asking for $$$ yet) just seeing if there is anyone that would realistically be willing to buy one of these.

Love the movie but my collection is Batman exclusive for now! No money or space to expand beyond that!

But good luck!! with Xeno's super sculpts and the custom weapons i've seen floating around, I can imagine some awesome D9 displays on some freaks' shelves in the months to come!

Yes it would be nice to know the sculptor and of course like you it would have to be very high end quality

Christopher Johnson was one of my favorite characters of last year.
I would love to see what you come up with, but out of my price range as well.
I have District 9 pieces on order from Weta that's going to keep my wallet on empty.

Update. These have the potential to be a LOT less now. Things are shaping up for Prawn lovers.. er... um, fans, in 2011

Maybe....I see you've changed your original est. from $600-$800 to possibly $200-$400.
I'd love to see who you have lined up to sculpt and how the prawns look.

Even before this thread started... someone else is doing a 1/6th scale Prawn figure already and ive seen some progress shots. At this stage i dont think the artist wants to be named but just thought i'd like to let people know...
