OK, on behalf of my friend, Pjam, who you all know got the magnificent BATMAN custom going with Sovereign Shawn, I'm posting this poll to see what the interest would be for a Custom Sovereign LURTZ.

Keep in mind, this is just to see who would be interested. There is no price range yet. I would love if you guys would chime in with what you'd be willing to pay, although I realize that's a double-edged sword.

I know some of you might feel that Sideshow will do a Lurtz so why buy one now? Well, keep this in mind: Sideshow might do a Lurtz, but with everyone they still NEED to do, it will be at least a year or two. They only offer about 4-5 figures a year for this line -- so far -- and they still need to announce Gandalf, Gimli, they'll do more Hobbits with that body, then we got Saruman and Ringwraithes and the chicks and Thoeden, etc... so Lurtz is probably a ways off. Besides, they can't do him until they get a BIG body, probably waiting for the Vader body.

Again, this doesn't commit anybody. Just trying to get an idea if a group rate is feasible. Shawn of course will have the ultimate say if he feels that the demand would justify a reasonable price. He has not commited to this potential project yet. But as we know, he can make Lurtz.

I'll let this poll run for a day or two and then tab the results over to the General Forum's thread.

Also, I'll only counting the number of votes that coincide with posts, just in case some funny people come and jack up the poll without real intent to ever buy one.

I am definitely getting one. I probably won't pay much more than ~$120 for it thought. But one question, why Lurtz??? There are plenty of others LOTR baddies that sideshow might not do, so why not give them a try? Just curious.

The reason is Shawn currently has a LURTZ custom that he makes. So it's an easy step for him, if he wants, to produce more. He's got the recipe down.

Starting fresh with a new baddie would require time, and probably raise the cost because of the development process.

If Shawn were to consider another LOTR baddie, I would vote GOTHMOG because I know we'll never see him from Sideshow.

That's understandable. But I was actually hoping for Gothmog myself because at the rate sideshow is going, I don't think we'll see any minor villains. :monkey1

:lol
I am pretty sure there's plenty of "closet" Gothmog lovers around; we just need to weed them out. A poll perhaps....

I did a poll once, got like 6 people I think before the thread became "who would you like to see" instead of the question at hand.

Also, I inquired with Shawn about a private commission for Gothmog and he never got back to me on it, so maybe he's just not interested in the character.

We'll see how this goes. So far, we've only got 7 for Lurtz... so can you imagine how few we'd get for Gothmog?

Yes, I'm in-depending on price. $100-125 range would work.

For any LotR character I think people are holding out for a Sideshow. Until they actually tell us the line is dead, there's always hope.

I agree, that's why I thought I'd try a poll, just to see who's eager.

But with Gandalf, Gimli, Merry, Pippin, Saruman, Ringwraithe, Eowyn, Arwen, Theoden and who knows who else that is likely to be made first for the sake of ease, we might be waiting until 2010 for a large-body Lurtz. Or at least until Vader is made.

I would love to have a 1/6th Lurtz. The only issue would be the price. I agree with the statment the more LOTR 1/6 the better. Hey I wouldn't mind a Gothmog and would get him if he was made and I could afford it.

I'm down for it only because I have this insatiable appetite for LOTR 1:6 figures that just isn't being satisfied. I'm not big into the character, but he is good for displaying with the others. I have to confess, however, that I wouldn't go for Gothmog. I'll get Sideshow's since I'm a completionist with the line, but I'll only buy him reluctantly. A big deformed orc captain just isn't the kind of character that grabs me. I'll take more good guys any day of the week.

However, I haven't forgotten you all putting up with me and my Faramir obsession for over a year, so don't worry--you have my full endorsement as you support this characters production. Even if I would rather take a few dozen characters before him. :lol:cool:
