Ever wondered why your packages are smashed?

Also, about one of the points they make in the article, someone posted this on Reddit (3 boxes were sent simultaneously) :

I'm amazed I haven't had alot more statues come broken, I've only had a couple returns but it still is frustrating.

I guess the Styrofoam must help a bit.

That was my Exact thought... I am also shocked that no more things get trashed when shipped..

I knew people were a-oles but That picture I posted about the "fragile Items" made me think a lot.

your items are safer without the Fragile sign on them...

One comment I read that made me think was this:

I worked at Fedex for 2 years, and at DHL for a year.
My basic advice to anyone shipping anything is this: If you can't drop it from it waist height and not break it, don't ship it.
I can guarantee that's the most gentle treatment you can expect, and it gets worse from there.

Basically, don't write "fragile" on the box, because that means nothing. Instead, pack your box adequately to absorb impact.

"#3. Camouflage It as a Heartwarming Gift"

This would be a very disturbing trend to see around here. If I order a headsculpt or a figure from a board member and it arrives in a box with heart stickers and decorated on the outside "To my darling Kamandi..." there will be negative feedback. Fair warning.

but at least it wouldn't break :lol:lol

Everything I know about protecting shipped packages, I learned from the episode of Full House when DJ is doing her egg drop project.

Ill never forget my king of the dead delivery.

Had to walk a few housesbdown as it was at the wrong door and it looked like a rapists tore the shipper from it like clothes on a victim. And the gouges. Good lord the gouges.. FedEx mailed from sideshow 20 miles away

statue was intact. Lol

"No honey, I swear I didn't order bull semen. I don't know why there's a box of it on the kitchen table. You didn't shake it though, right?"

Sick how your read the comments on articles like this where the workers brag about how they treat other people things. Of course they'd have a **** fit if it was done to them.

They left it at someone's door? I thought Sideshow required UPS to get a signature.

I make Sideshow ship all UPS as a "Will Hold" so it's held at the local UPS dispatch, no delivery attempt. They keep late hours and it's easy for me to bop in after work. Fewer opportunities for a screw up that way.

yeah that was worse than the article actually. Someone was saying they play "football" with the boxes...

Or some guy saying that when he saw blu rays, he would use the boxes as a Frisbee...

Or the people saying that they would put the fragile boxes first and then load Everything else on top of those.... :gah:
