is Pre order general in this market?

Hi,

Recently, I have been looking around Hot toy`s figures and found out all products are for pre order and past releases were sold out.

I understood then if I want to purchase Hottoy`s figures, I should pay for deposit and wait for a while.

Is this common and no accident for the delivery?

It's the norm. Preorder to secure. Once item ships they are around a while until they sell out.

Deposit isn't required from most places like Sideshow or BBTS.

Goes without saying pre-order from stores, not random ebay sellers.

The only thing i PO any more are the allegedly special ironman figures. Things dont sell out like they used to. And things almost never sell out in pre order anymore. They just produce a ton now for any given figure. You can definitely save ~$20 on a figure by buying it new on ebay AFTER the release. But i do enjoy rushing home to pick up that box off my front step. Feels like Christmas.
