Is the catalog now part of the collectible?

As you all know they now have an inset in the foam for all the PFs to place the catalog. If you were to buy a PF on ebay and the inset was missing the catalog is the piece incomplete?

...and does anyone need a Catalog 9 - I have about a zillion of them.

I was actually wondering the same thing. Would a missing catalog be a deal breaker now??

I wouldn't worry about the catalog. Like was already mentioned there are plenty of them, and it doesn't really have anything in there that isn't on-line. Although it is a little easier to look through all their products than it is on-line. I don't think I've saved any of mine, I think I threw them all out.

I suppose you'd need to have something official if you wanted to argue the case. Do all the PF's get a catalogue, just because there happens to be a space allowed? Does it depend on how many PF's they are shipping or on the printer printing. Is the space made in the packaging of a PF there for a catalogue or there to get rid of the catalogues? Hard to know for sure.

I don't think it's incomplete. But if the buyer really wants one, just make sure they pay extra for the shipping.

I give them to friends and family because I can't bring myself to toss them... No matter how many I have.

The catalogs are cool. I enjoy looking them over but like Dave I have several of 7,8, and 9. :lol

Maybe in 25 years when they aren't as readily available. Right now, all they are is an anchor for shipping costs.

Not only the PF's come with a catalog. I think Jabba 12" had a catalog as well (or was it the throne? - did you know they used REAL polystone for the throne, and not just ABS... oops, sorry! Off topic!). So, I figure, when ever there's room, there's going to be a catalog. I bet the catalog will play a part in the future, like kodiak says. Right now, most of us don't care. I keep them.

You know, with the inset there, a seller on eBay could remove it and say it's a variant missing the catalog, even though there's an inset there, and some poor soul who doesn't know any better would buy it at the flipped out price...

on the other hand, SSC just announced that the catalog will now be the standard Exclusive item for all the PFs.
