as a new year is begining soon, I would like to write a reflection on my best and favorite piece. It is so good to be a collector now a days. I don't care if your a medicom, sideshow, hot toys, heck even tonner..... these great companies have produced the most AMAZING stuff for us to preserve our childhood in little plastic or polystone figurines. I want to hear all your goods and bads of '07

2007 was an amazing year to be a collector. So many awesome pieces that came into our houses in 2007, and Old Ben is still coming to some of us before the end of the year. Its really unprecedented in how good its been.

2007 was a very good year indeed. I'm holding my breath for the backlash though. It can't go up up up all the time. Bigger, better, ...more expensive.

I cannot agree more. It just keeps getting better and with Sideshow doing their own thing plus bringing over Hot Toys and Medicom the future is so bright, I gotta wear shades.

Didn't the Hulk PF come out in 2006? I could be wrong... if it did come out in 2007, must have been January... but I could have sworn it was late 2006...

Anyway.. I would pick the Hulk for Premium Format of 2007, but since I think he was released in 2006 I'll go with the Legend: Lord of Darkness and Marvel's Captain America as the Premium Formats of the year.

For 1:6 scale figures, I suppose one would have to go with the Hot Toys Ripley with Powerloader. But if we're just talking actual 1:6 scale homanoid figures, then I would say the Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean line is the best out there!

Best figure outside of 1:6 scale figures and PFs would have to be Master Piece MP05 Megatron.

All around best figure this year I think would be POTC Jack from HT. Loaded with extras and very high quality clothes.

I only have Stealth Iron Man comiquette, Thing Premium Format Exclusive, Black Cat comiquette, SideShow mixed media 1/4 Endoskeleton, Hot Toys Cannibal Jack Sparrow, and Takara Batman Begins 1:6 scale figure all up for preorder. That's all coming out between the 1st and 2nd quarters of 2008. I don't have much on order. No, not me.

Damn, and on top of that I just sent out a request to have my local sports team put aside a special 1 night only (ultra limited) game worn jersey for the January 05 game that won't be cheap.

Good thing I am making up all those purchases with selling certain pieces from my collection and using up all my SS reward points... cause other words... I would be out a crapload more money. hehe

2007 was an okay year. I only liked the Cap PF, HT Endo and the Gandalf LSB. Everything else wasn't that excited for me.

As far as collecting goes I will likely never have year as good as 2007.

One word: Darkness

In one year I got not only a Darkness Premium Format but a ONE OF A KIND pre-production cast

Truly a dream come true.

Not to mention the homeruns Hot Toys hit all year.

Far and away the best year to be a collector.

We've talked about in the SW section some of the stuff we have coming in the first 2 quarters of the year and it really is scary. I forgot I had the Batman Begins coming too.
