Jabba is fantastic, but even the creature packs are well sculpted and beautifully painted. The Jabba set is deffinately kicking off 1/6 scale creatures for the SW with a big, successful bang.

Very much so. Salacious and friends are very well done even better than what I remember from SDCC. Bubo looks awesome as well from the pics not to mention he's pretty darn big himself.

Just curious, leading up till now I had seen a lot of threads from people saying they just couldn't justify the price and several people were cancelling. So how many of us kept him on order?

Every one of us in this thread that is expressing extreme impatience and an utter desire for this big guy to start shipping :)

I kept him and never waivered. This is everything Hasbro wouldn't give us.

Neither have I, in fact, I decided long ago, if money got tight I would cancel every ordered item I have coming up to keep Jabba, this will be the center, crown jewel of my 1/6 Star Wars collection.

I think before the ink was even dry on the licensing agreement between Hasbro/SS/ and LFL, Jabba was being planned. We got the gun with Luke, Bespin/Carbonite Han, then BOOM we see Jabba. Plus this is something that had been asked for for years and presented the gang at SS with a unique challenge to which I think they handled quite well.

They said in the Jabba Q&A Podcast that they decided to take him on when they developed Boussh and Bib because they thought it would tie those figures together and create a real nice environement.

Whatever the reason they took this on, I am very GLAD they did and sooo happy with the results, and I don't even have him in hand yet!:D

I cancelled, saved, and sold other things to keep Jabba. No way I'f ever cancel. THe thought never even crossed my mind.

My tears of joy are matched by wails of anguished impatience.:lol :monkey2 :lol :monkey2 :chew

I'm with you all the way on that one.

Yeah, waiting sucks. Even worse when you've already seen it in person once then have to wait like 7 more months to see it agian.

I never thought of cancelling either. Even after the transmission went out in our van. Can't wait till he comes. Has anyone heard anything more definite than the next 30 days notice?

I (tsk tsk) came close to canceling Jabba... and that was mainly due to space issues. I love the figure and set-up but didn't want to invest $350+ in a figure I wouldn't get to see out. I had actually decided to axe the whole thing!

But after Bib arrived, and was awesome, I was 100% sold on Jabba and haven't looked back. It was a smart move for Sideshow to get Bib out to me so quickly :chew

I too was worried about space until I taped it out on the intended space and got a real idea for how much space he'll actually take up. I think it's possible that he's not as big as people's memories make it, and display cases ALWAYS make things look bigger than they actually are....

With PF Hulk and now Jabba, the factory is pumping out some stellar paint work. I can't wait to get both.

I'm very happy with the latest pics of Jabba as well.

And have no doubts on keeping the latest version.

Btw i have the IC Jabba and could not really understand what SSC was getting at with deterioration (being latex on the IC Jabba).Mine looks like the day i bought him.... perfect.

The other day i'm downtown and we have a store called Junkmans Daughter and they also have the IC Jabba that has been in there for years on display.I had not seen it in a while (just figured they sold it).

Well.... i have to tell you that thing had no latex face but was all foam from all the constant fondling.:monkey3

They still wanted $75.00 for it as is:rotfl :rotfl :rotfl

SSC made the right decision going with the plastic over rubber.

And i'm glad my collectibles are behind glass.People like to see with their hands too much.

:D

Actually I found the exact opposite at SDCC. The 12" figures looked tiny at the show. Even more so if there was a PF in the case. Jabba will be much bigger than I remember - Salacious Crumb is. I do have an old table set aside for Jabba though. Just big enough to hold the throne and some extras. If there are more figures/creatures than there are now, there might not be enough room!

I think the decision to go with vinyl was that materials like the IC Jabba wouldn't stand the test of time as well in that, under the right conditions it might hold up and be fine, but over time, conditions would change at some point, and that was the big thing too, maybe it would hold up, but why gamble, and I'm glad they didn't, I want this beheamoth to last a long time :) If he would just show up t t t t t t oday junior!

Ditto.... Jabba and Boba PF will never be cancelled!! I made sure of it.... :rock

I can't wait, I want him now. I would never cancel this one. Jabba was the second item that completly caught my attention at SDCC. Even if he has to stay hidden away for a while I want to know I have him.
