I'm confused now, some people show their Bruce that came with internal colored box others just a plain shipping box with Jaws picture on it ?

Which one is it ?

mine was color.... might have something to do with when the order was placed and when it was manufactured since the Reg edition was open-ended.... :monkey1

I have mine on Flexpay one more to go,I won't sell it,but I was just curious.

Wow, that is one slick cardboard box. I'd probably use it for transporting goods to the beach. :D

My exclusive had a standard shipping box. Very nice vintage feel to the external design.

Psh. You have everything, don't you, Scar? How's the piece? I've only seen stock photos.

Accurate as to an actual C.carcharias? No, but that goes without saying. Accurate as to how Bruce appears throughout the film before being battered by the fishing trio? Absolutely superlative.

Looking forward to this. I have one flex payment left! Just to remind you guys, he is gift card eligible now.

No, inaccurrate to some of the basic Bruce design elements, regardless of weathering and wounding from later in the film, there are ares that are off, the snout being one of them, shape of the mouth is a bit off too. Could probably toss out more things but that's off the top of my head. It's not unrecognizably off, but there are off elements that prevent it from looking at it from some angles and feeling like you're looking at him right off the screen.

i was actually going to pick up this up until i saw the price of the shipping. 188 just to ship it! Nearly as expensive as the item itself

Mine came in the standard shipping box. But he is an awesome piece. Big and heavy! When I liquidated my general PF movie collection, I got rid of all but Bruce.

Curious. The comparison shots I've seen from The Shark is Still Working, the film, and photos I was shown by a friend of the Taylors who worked with them rather regularly all are very, very close to the Sideshow maquette. The teeth on the maquette are larger than the original shark and the mouth isn't quite as wide nor the snout as ventrally tapered. Frankly, those adjustments probably make the maquette much more palatable and imposing than the mechanized Bruce in person, and actually serve to make the design more natural, even for an unnatural creature. The maquette is an excellent envisaging of the shark as we know and love it.

One example, quickly, the lower jaw shape. On Bruce, it's almost square off, there are corners at the front, on the maquette it's completely circular.

The upper jaw also goes more almost straight back into the body on Bruce, but on Sideshow's it slopes down to the "jowels".

Like I said, it's not like tragically off, it's a great maquett of him, but there are some features that aren't right and from certain viewing angles he doesn't look as good. The maquette looks great from a profile, most of the off elements I know of really impact the front on and overhead views, though the snout length is noticable in profile.

I completely agree. You pointed out very well the points I was referring to, those which make the actual Bruce less believable as a living creature, more angular, sadly implausible, and the adjustments on the maquette make it more fluid and organic. I like to look at the maquette as a way to make Bruce more palatable as a potentially living creature. Not entirely film accurate, but the better for it.
