As an owner of the Hot Toys version which was already absurdly large - to those who think they have a place to display this even larger version, I say to you :

Smaller one is HT, bigger one is Jazzinc Proto.

Does this mean the Hot Toys Tumbler (and the rest of their 1:6 vehicles) is also undersized?

Honestly, when you look at the HT Delorean, I’m almost certain it’s undersized too…
I think HT did this to reduce boxes size and shipping costs.

I’ve always hated how flimsy all of those wings are and the cockpit opening system. They also went really cheap on the interior, which I know Joost would absolutely nail with details and lights.

I think we have to put back in context.
Circa 2010-2015 when the HT vehicles were the only ones available on the market, there wasn’t too many question to ask for.
I mean they were cool, impressive by their sizes, offering a great display option to pair with the figures and were not so much expensive in comparison with nowadays prices.
Now when you see what can be made by a company like Jazzinc, it’s certain that HT vehicles seem now 1/6 low entry level next to.
But other times, other budgets.
I think we can consider now the HT vehicle like a great additional option for the figure.
The Jazzinc’s one is more a true replica.
Two options for two different budgets.
There is room for both IMO…

The black HT tumbler was the first thing that got me into this hobby. I actually collected batmobiles (on a much smaller scale) and my wife gave it to me for father’s day. I’m sure she had no idea what she started

At this point, I’d really love to replace the HT tumbler with a true replica. I’d gladly sell off both my black and camo tumblers just to get one accurate version from jazzinc.

I don’t know if that was ever something on Joost’s radar, but I suspect that there will be many more of us asking for HT replacements since the 1989 comparison pictures came out. I’m sure they were just intended to help differentiate the jazzinc 1989 vehicle for sales purposes, but they’ve really sown the seeds of discontent when applying them to the other HT vehicles.

Wow, that comparison really puts the HT to shame, and definitely makes me feel like a bit of a chump--but at the end of the day, it's double the price, and I'm just not willing to spend that. Hell, I'll presumably be saving another $200 USD or more just by virtue of the fact that I can pick up the HT one locally.

Never feel like a chump for collecting within your budget.

That's what I see too. Also it's 9 feet, 4 inches wide. That would make it 30" by 18.6" in 1/6 scale.

The actual HT tumbler is 28.74" by 18.11".

They shorted this one too.

The HT Tumbler always looked small in comparison to the HT 89’ even though it should be, this 89’ will completely dwarf it. Same goes for the Batpod I’ve recently purchased too huh?

Can’t be, the wheel base wouldn’t line up with an accurately sized Tumbler if it correctly matches the HT Tumbler. Since it came out of it, with the front tire being that of the Tumbler. Unless you know, movie magic, I’m sure Nolan wouldn’t skip those details. I don’t have either currently on display, so I can’t personally get an accurate idea of them side by side to measure. Waiting on my Moducase orders so they’re all boxed up.

It looks massive here. Certainly bigger than how the HT looks next to a DX19.

The actual prop measurements for the DK2 unit are 149.5" x 47.25" x 42.25". In 1/6 scale, lengthwise, that's 24.92 inches.

HT is 23.23". That's over 1.5" too short.

As was pointed out earlier, all of these tolerances were probably ok back in the day when the focus was really on toys, rather than replicas. I think now with jazzinc on the scene, we've gotten a taste of much more accuracy, albeit at a higher price, so the expectations are shifting and we're all scrutinizing things much more than we would have. Still, I think part of those new expectations are that HT would focus some of their extensive resources to actually make their products more accurate as they are re-released down the road, rather than just grab the money.
