Really interested what they said, would you kindly be able to get a screen grab of it if it's still available for you?
Yeah, it's still grinding my gears. It initially came to me with a huge paint rub of the Silicone on the back thigh, so JND covered the return and sending it back to me and repaired it, fixed it very well. Somehow, either in the repair or packaging/travel part of the skin on the front thigh was puckered, they again made good on it, completely fixed it somehow, even kindly redid the hair for me, sent me a video of it to show the repairs. Then Korean customs opened it, so it got to me wit the lasso and pin off, part of the skirt decimated into pieces and the hair astray. Reached out to JND and they, somewhat understandably, said they can no longer cover repairing it, they would do if I can ship it to them and pay a repair fee. For me, though, the cost of sending it out again to repair the small skirt fragment doesn't seem worth it. They could repair it and it could incur more damage or be inspected again and become more damaged.
The issue with these things are because it's repairs, and what I faced with FedEX, they go by the refund process as listed by the cost of the repair, which in my case was next to zero, as JND had to list a price, and not the initial cost of the statue despite having the receipts and proof of cost of item. Literally the worst aspect of buying these things is that some ******** in customs will open them up and damage without consequence. In my situation I'm screwed because I've used my repairs and the items delivery price isn't the cost of the item.
I did reach out to JND saying that I would rather sculpt the small fragment and paint it. I asked if I could send it in for them to do but they refused as, ironically enough, they'd need the piece to match the rest of the skirts paint application. I then asked if they could just let me know the paints they used and I can mix it myself and apply it, they refused because of their paint secrets (how telling me which paints they used for a one-off statues skirt is going to affect that I have no idea.
So if anyone has any experience in sculpt material to replicate the type of plastic JND uses along with paint knowledge, would greatly appreciate it!
Yeah that'd be great. Although I think the cut and hang of Queens for me is better, I can see that JND's probably is the better materials. I just hope that the belt isn't plastic.
I'd say wait it out if you're not sure 100%, they are a lot of money. Queen could come out with an absolute home-run and be the winner, you'd be kicking yourself if that happened. Then again, It is a really low ES for JND, you might be able to snag one after release, depends how good it comes out and what if any changes also.
