Exorcist is worthy of breaking your rules lol.

I stand by my statement villains from Exorcist to Batman 89 can't be touched.

Hell even comedies in that time period had great villains lol.

Well, the 70's were a strong decade for dramas, and those often produce the best "classic Hollywood" villains/characters. The 80's were more about genre films.

But the 70's had some truly great ones like the entire cast of The Godfather films :lol And many other films.

I think the 90's were weak, but the 2000's (00 -09) and 2010's are good decades for villains, when you look outside of superhero films.

If they wanted a metal Aquaman they should've picked Travis Fimmel.

I like Aquabro and everything but the fact that he's a better Lobo will haunt me forever. Same goes for Joaquin Phoenix Luthor.

Well, you kinda answered your own problem

Cast Travis Fimmel AS lobo.... perfect solution

On this we agree 100%.

90's suck. T-1000, T-rex and Agent Smith basically encompasses the decade. 3 great villains, but little else. Maul and Keyser Soze.

00's good. Barbossa, Davy Jones, Nazgul, Saruman, Lurtz, Witchking, Gothmog, Dooku, Grievous, Joker, Scarecrow, Ra's... and that's just 3 franchises.

LOTR has enough villains for an entire decade alone. Not even getting into the failed franchises that had good villains like Matrix Reloaded Twins.

Kill Bill

Kill Bill, Inglorious Basterds, the Harry Potter franchise, American Phycho, No Country for old men, There will be Blood, Gangs of NY, Spider-Man 2, Gladiator, Unbreakable, Training Day, Sin City, Casino Royale, The Departed, 300, Sweeney Todd ....they all had memorable villains, many of which were Oscar nominated or winners.

I saw that as a little kid, and that scene legitimately freaked me out. Almost as bad as some scenes from Monty Python's Meaning of Life. Don't show that to kids, people.

That part of the film was terrifying when I was a kid. I still have some residual trauma from it.

Yeah prior to 2000 I can think of decent villians for each decade....
After that ......not so much.

Only 3 come to mind....

Immortan Joe (memorable due to the look and portrayl)

Professor Delores Umbridge (definitely channeling one pf the all time cinematic great villians, Nurse Ractchet.

Koba (one amazing, freak ass CGI monstrosity)

Jigsaw is an iconic horror villain by now. Quality of movie doesnt count. The character itself became icon.

saruman and witch king are iconic.

Green goblin in spiderman ( regardless of bad costume)

Captain barbosa is pretty iconic, so was davy jones

Fimmel is a pretty serious actor so you'd likely get a dead serious Lobo. Aquabro is definitely better for Lobo, Fimmel would've been better for Aquaman.

The trailers I've seen sucked. All the promotional material aside from the Alex Ross one are just embarrassing to look at. It was doomed from it's inception.

Lol superman and wonder woman looks good. But damn wth is with the rest? Whats borg doing lol. Batman? Cmon man. This deserves to be on a lunch box
