I can’t express how thrilled I am that this line is getting done it’s just always criminally overlooked

The dead Laura is wonderful I wouldn’t expext much from a suited figure and I have my own stuff already. As someone whos been involved with almost all of the Dale cooper head sculpts produced thus far my man Inigo would be one of my top choices to make one, and you can never go wrong with Dario’s stellar paint work.

Having said that I’m struggling a lot with this portrait. He’s an almost impossible face to capture so I understand the rare miss of this top tier sculptor plus wr don’t know what say the lisencers say.

The fact that kaustic made this at all I simply have a hard time thinking negatively on it. I’ll gladly get it for the Laura alone,

Yeah I’m 99% in on this depending on price. I think the headsculpt looks great in those pics. Laura is a cool display piece but unsure how I’d display her

They call it a Laura Palmer 1/6 action figure but I gotta say that is probably not how I’d describe it.

As iconic as it is, the prospect of buying a 1/6 scale corpse feels a bit weird.

But David Lynch is one of my favorite filmmakers and my wife and I love Twin Peaks so I may have to get the set.

The latest pics look a lot more promising for the head.

The inigo / kaustic mr Stallone creations turned out great in the final product too. I didn’t even repaint it.

Having said that I know exactly what to do accentuate Kyle’s likeness with paint tricks. So I’ll look forward to painting this portrait.

That's the thing though, should you have to touch up anything? Based on past releases this isn't going to be on the lower end of price. I know nothing is ever perfect and working on a figure can be fun. Many of us do not have "paint tricks." Not a knock at you.

Look at it another way. If you can improve on it, if you have the skill, why not? And also, why should an action figure be perfect? It's all in the eye and the wallet of the beholder. If you like what you see and its price, buy it. Otherwise skip it.

Not a knock at you either. I believe we as collectors are entitled to call out companies when they provide underwhelming prototypes or even worse, underwhelming final products. Bue we are not entitled to expect that every action figures has to be perfect. It is what it is.

I’d like a warmer skin tone, maybe a little more brown to his eyebrows and I can’t help but think the head should be just a little narrower.
Comparing the fine details of the eyes/mouth/nose/chin, it looks very close.

I think natural lighting would help give a better example of skin tone. Even between the pictures the lighting gives him a lighter/darker complexion.
Especially noticeable between these 2 pics:

The top one looks more natural, and closer to his actual complexion in the show.

The shinyness of the pics give Coop a wax figure like look.

The Laura is a great companion piece but I suspect the price will be ridiculous for what it is.

Yeah I think I'll preorder this, if it's close to the prototype I'll be happy, I have figures like VTS Johnny Rico and some DiD stuff that isn't HT quality paint but I love them anyway, so hopefully this won't be worse than those.

I saw the preorder is in September, I was hoping this would release this year but I guess that's unlikely lol. I can't wait to see what other characters they announce.

I know for a fact this is a hand painted prototype by Dario and not a production sample so it stands reason to believe that there will be a fair amount of difference. I could be wrong but it looks like he might have put a base acrylic coat on top of inigos print so that might be contributing to the wax look combined with the bright neural light source hitting these.

I’m sure they will follow Dario’s prototype as a guide but final production is anyones guess.

I like they say they did the stalliones, not hot toys level but as I said I was impressed.

For the record I repaint or touch up all my figures from hot toys to third parties to customs. Not saying anyone should have to do this but not eveyone can have the budget and resources to be at hot toys level.

Hot toys doesn’t give a crap about niche licenses like these with the Disney gravy train

This will give me a few nice accessories maybe a serviceable head to my already superior customs so that’s all I care about.

For twin peaks fans though who are constantly starved with Merch this is still a triumph

Hmm, I'm not yet completely sold on the Coop portrait. The eyes still seem quite beady, and they've over exaggerated KM's tear troughs and nasolabial folds. At 1/6 scale, I don't believe they should appear as prominently. Also, Coop's clothing should be immaculate, which is not what we're seeing in these first pics.

With that said, I'm just happy to see anyone taking on this license quite frankly. Looking forward to seeing where this line goes.

I’d be inclined to believe the clothing will look even worse. Very rarely is there a good mass market suit, pop toys and stuff are ok but I’ve not seen kaustic do a suit. I have little faith it will be usable.

I too think the portrait needs a few tweaks .he might be literally the hardest actor to capture.

My older Dale cooper sculpt that I art directed is the only KM sculpt that I’m happy with so far. A perfect younger one might be my most wanted head

This inspired me to start watching season 1 again. Have to say, if they make a second figure it should probably be Sheriff Harry S. Truman as he is the best companion figure to go with Coop. Perhaps not the most interesting figure though, that would probably be Audrey or waitress Shelly.

No reason for Laura to have an articulated body, so hopefully it's just a plastic statue, which would presumably cut down on costs. Frankly, anything over $100 or so seems too much for what you're getting there in that case. But I suspect it will be much higher.

The lackluster clothing is the main thing that jumps out at me seeing these new shots. If you have to replace the clothing and repaint the head, then you're essentially paying full price for a sculpt, body (maybe), and some accessories. But if it's the best Cooper sculpt option out there then you do what you have to.

The Laura "figure" is a headsculpt, a generic body, and a plastic bag. Hopefully it's treated as such. It's a nice accessory piece with Coop.

On the topic of accessories I'm a little disappointed Cooper doesn't come with a slice of pie on a plate. Also I would love to have a proper 1/6 owl. I searched all over the internet and the only owl I could find is the Harry Potter owl. It's not a good match but I picked one up anyway to try to modify. Toy Anxiety still has a couple left for $10 if anyone else is interested.

Cooper had very shiny hair, and his face is not shiny, just like Laura's face too.
