Keaton batman correct belt color

Hi

This is simple as you can get, the hot toys 1989 keaton batman, came with a yellow belt even though the pics of the prototype showed the belt with the correct gold color.

I went to an autoshop not far from where i live, primed the belt made the paint and sealed the belt with clear urethane.

I know is not much of a custom, but now is better and movie accurate.

If anyone is not happy like i was, give it a try.

Well it was gold on some promo shots but it's definitely yellow in the movie, maybe not as bright as the HT one but it's yellow with a tiny bit of gold in it.

I agree, the Returns belt however looks like the above color, but for Batman 89 I agree more of a metallic yellow if anything but I think straight yellow works fine too.

OMG!

Well guys this is not a replica prop forum, but to me is ok, i don`t mind if a lot o people dig the plain yellow, gold, the metallic yellow, i don`t know. I don`t have the actual prop im my hand to mix the same color. You can`t go to an autoshop and say hey ! give me a 1989 batman metallic yellow! hehehehe.


To me it was not plain yellow and i went to see the movie in 1989 a lot of times hehehehe.

Everyone can look at the pics below, and make up their own minds. It`s ok if a lot o people like the color the belt came with, but to me IMO is better this way and more accurate for the toy.

Your belt looks awesome El Chino. I'm definitely repainting mine soon. The only time I ever actually saw the belt as yellow was in a promotional shot of Batman before the movie came out. I think it might have even been taken during an early costume fitting. They must have changed it to gold just before shooting began.

Just watch the movie, it's as clear as day. The belt is yellow thru the entire movie until the the raid on Axis chemicals where batman dons a gold belt. Some believe it is "melted yellow" from the Batwing crash but if you watch the scene where the Batmobile comes back to Batman at Axis and the helicopter sptlight hits him, you will see that it is gold there.

So both are technically correct.
