Not to take anything away from Serang, but bro, you need to learn the difference between mass produced and small, limited run of custom figures. If Serang were producing runs as large as Hot Toys, and we're talking in the thousands, they wouldn't look like that (plus we'll ignore that these are on HotToys TrueTypes and muscle bodies).

True but the accessories and head sculpts are his own.....they are trying to put out a Spartacus figure and it sucks...the head sculpt doesn't look like Andy at all....if i could have Kim do my personal collection.....i would say PEACE to Hot Toys.....money aint an issue....i've got it to spend it....

Oh and not to mention with his work....you won't have a problem QC....no sweating bodies....____ falling off.....or head sculpts that look like crap compared to the prototype....his Platoon set KILLS hot toys....i've never seen any come on this site selling Serang's work....but everyday i see folks selling Hot Toys left and right.....hmmmmm

Actually, the Spartacus figure is going to be released by CMToys. This "new" figure is nothing compared to serang's, I agree.

Again though, if one only has 10-30 figures to make vs. 5,000+, he had better make the time to do a bang-up job. Especially with the inflated price he's expecting to be paid for custom work. Plus there aren't really any deadlines or cost restrictions with a customizer so he can take his time getting it done, vs. a corporation which has budgets and time constraints, so the comparison with HT isn't necessarily a fair, nor an accurate one. :huh

Unless he lives rent free and has no other demands on his time, he does have time and budget constraints.

One could suggest, rightly or wrongly, that HT can invest in developing the resources to do figures on a Serang and Rainman level.

Not sure what crawled up Nams butt, but this is a stupid argument to have, going back and forth about what a custom figure maker can achieve and or accomplish versus what a major manufacturer like HT can, is pointless and has been discussed a million times over here.

Serang does amazing work. End of story.

thank you :clap

Everything was great, fantastic, fabulous, amazing, etc, etc - except the Foreman from House. That one was the only sculpt that did not look like the actor. That thing looked nothing like Omar Epps. But just unbelievable work, nonetheless!!!

I was just trying to help the OP out so when he makes a comment like "Hot Toys ain't got ____ on this!" he knows and understands why it's not really a fair and accurate comparison. But since it's clear that apparently ignorance is bliss, keep on sword swallowing, ladies. :wink1:
