Koto has revealed some more Marvel goodies. These are fine art 1/6 scale Polystone statues.

They've announced the following (hope it's OK to link these pics here)

Modern Cable (w/light up eye & removable baby harness):

I know a lot of folks here are going to balk at these character choices, but I am very impressed with what Koto has done here. It was a very balsy move for them to go with lesser known characters like Cable and Winter Soldier for their first full size comic styled Marvel statues. Gotta give them props for that!!

i was amazed when I saw these in person. Not to much into the Cable though. Could be better, imo.

The baby carrier is just adorable.

No interest in any of these pieces, but they look good.

I'm a Cable fan, but that statue doesn't really do that much for me. Would be curious to see it without the baby carrier from more angles.

The winter soldier looks like it could have potential. The Cable just sucks. It isn't Koto's fault as the statue looks solid enough, but Marvel has really drug Cable through the mud recently...

What I like is that they use some pretty recent designs for the characters...*cross fingers for WWH*

WOW... those looks freaking spectacular. Im not a big fan of the selection. but the paint app seems to be very high!... Impressive,
Bowen is gonna have there work cut out for them because there in the same price range and size.

Cable...pass. This isn't 1996. Could be worse. It could be based off a Liefield design. :yuck

Winter Soldier....pass. Bucky should still be dead.

Blade....maybe. I'm a fan of the movies but this piece is a little out dated.

All look good but these choices in characters is stupid. Start out with some core Marvel characters first then branch out.

I think the Cable looks amazing and better than anything available in 1996. Whoever said they saw stuff like that in 96 is smoking. Maybe vinyl kits, and that would vary depending on who built them.

I would be tempted to get the Blade since I am such a fan (guess I let the cat out of the bag with the Dio), and I need to get Tnaig's custom bash before I go down that road. I really need to talk to Tnaig.

Who said that???

Nobody said anything like this was available in '96.

:lol :lol :lol :rotfl

Actually, it's 2008, and that's what version of Cable this is. The one you would find in the current Cable series on the shelf at your local comic shop!

Why is he carrying a baby?

:lol it's kinda like Marvels take on "Lone Wolf and Cub", but with the cub being some important mutant that everyone wants to kill for some reason :lol

..to be honest, I don't know. Waiting for the TPB to come out before I read it, hate waiting on individual issues. I think the story starts in "X-Men: The Messiah Complex", but not sure yet as I just started reading that one last night.

(I like Animal Mother's explanation better)
