I never saw the original, but I was feeling in the horror mood so thought I'd check this out. People complain about the violence and sex in Watchmen, but I think combining the two is more disturbing. What's more disturbing is the long lingering shots of Sara Paxton getting dressed and undressed - she's basically got the body of a 12 year old, so it's not very exciting and it makes you wonder what the filmmaker is trying to do. Especially considering what happens in the film.

There's some over the top violence here, but I was kind of disturbed by some of it, just because of the situation.

Anyway - if you like the ultraviolence - you might like this film.

The original was disturbing enough. I can imagine it being notched up for the remake.

I'll rent it but I'm not gonna go see it. What the hell is up with Wes Craven and rape scenes? It's getting old. The orininal hills have eyes had a rape scene, the hills have eyes 2 (sequel to the remake) had a rape scene. The last house on the left(original) had a rape scene. WTF seriously it's disturbing.

The rape scene in the remake is pretty disturbing.

I like the movie. I think the original was overal more brutal and raw, but the remake is better in every other area.

I'd imagine it was better. The Hills Have Eyes was wayyy better than the original IMO

this is true, my GF was like "WTF?" why did they need to show everything.
especially how she had to watch her friend die at the same time.
I'm gonna go Wednesday. Original is brutal, but not all that good.
definitely!! i haven't seen the original in a couple years, but netflixed it and it should arrive in a couple weeks.

I cant imagine it being much worse than the Hillside Strangler remake with C. Thomas Howell...

I'm currently about half way through the new release "Last House on the Left." This movie is intense and shocking, I'm surprised redbox carried it. It's probably one of the most graphic "real life" horror flick I've seen in the past 5 years. Probably not for some as it has already included a pretty graphic rape scene that I really wasn't expecting and still don't know what to think of it. I almost want to compare it to the scene in Deliverance with the exception that it's a female being violated in this movie.

We'll see how the latter half of the movie holds up. Gang is just about to visit the folks and have dinner.

Yeah, definitely a renter. I enjoyed it though, but like I said, probably not for everyone.

The latter half definitely being the "payback" feel of the movie, with the first half being the "victimized" part.

It's not bad and the rape scene is pretty tame compared to movies like Irriversable and I Spit On Your Grave. Irriversable I had to fast foward it. First and only time I've ever fast foward a movie because of violence.

Speaking of really bad rape scenes, theres one in Descent with Rosario Dawson that will make you want to vomit.
