Late 60s Hasbro GI Joe Advendure team question.

I have a Hasbro 12" Adventure team land adventure figure. Over the years some of his flocked hair has rubbed off and I have noticed that under it they're looks like he has molded red hair underneath. I read some post about Hasbro using their left over molded hair heads by just covering the head with flocking for the Adventure team. Does anyone else have any more info on this?

Usually, the first flocked AT used leftover heads from the previous generation, so it's not uncommon. I think it was a smart move, so much so, that when I reflock a head, I do just that. That way, if it is thinner somewhere, the paint will hide it.
So it probably means your Joe, was probably from the very early 1970 runs
