Over time I have tried to keep tweaking and improving the items I make... here is a recent whip I just built for a customer from the board.. I like these sculpted handles over the original ones I did in the beginning with the steel bead for the turk's head... I am always open for critique and advice on improvements.. I recently restocked on a ton of materials to build more of these...

Admittedly the photo makes the whip appear a lot darker than the actual color... I need to reshoot these but am swamped at the workbench at the moment.. I may take some up to work and use the photo studio lighting at the office.

I ave done posable whips in the past... which is not that much more difficult to do when they are constructed.. I usually just do the wire body whips as a specific request for a little bit more... so if anyone was dead set on a posable whip then that option is available..

Here's the funny thing Worgar... I literally spend any hobby time I have available with my hectic schedule filling orders for my buddies here on the board... I only have a custom TOD Indy and Indy in German disguise finished.. I STILL do not have a custom Raiders Indy in my own collection !! I need to get busy ! (especially with the new HT parts floating around)

Holsters are being cranked out as we speak.... in fact almost all orders that have been placed within the last two weeks are ready to go.. been busy this weekend :)

Great stuff Mike!
Can't wait to get mine (and my holster and gunbelt) :clap

Chris

I keep telling myself I'm not going to go crazy with the custom stuff but these whips sure are purdy...

I have one of Mike's earlier Raiders whips and its awesome. I like the look of the sculpted parts. If anyone is thinking of upgrading, I would heartily recommend investing in getting one.Your Indy will love you for it :whip

That really does look nice. Still trying to decide if its worth putting that more $$$ into an already $$$ figure. Great job!!

The trouble doing 1/6 gear is that the same gear is not seen throughout the film.... I have had a couple of very well versed Indy gear collectors email me and PM me regarding the length of the wrist loop... duly noted.. the image I originally went from is seen at the bottom of this page link :
https://indygear.com/igRotLAbullwhip.html
You will see Satipo holding the whip just before he drops it and bolts.. in that image the wrist loop appears to be only about 1/2 the length of the overall handle...(much like the one I built pictured in this thread)... yet there are other stills where it appears that the loop is well over half the length of the overall handle... in the end I guess I need to find a happy medium... keep the feedback coming...
