I'm a newb and need your help? Any advice on where to get LEDs small enough for my toys and statue projects? And battery advice? What size? Where do I get all of this stuff? Thanks!

AWESOME work LOPIE. Great for larger scale stuff. Would Radioshck have what you'd need for smaller stuff...like the shoulder lamps on the HT ALIENS marines, or for 1/6 flashlights for example. Those would probably need to be hooked up to smaller batteries...like watch batteries. similar to the HT Iron Man...any help with something like that, I'd be ALL OVER IT!!! :rock

They have small lights, I put 2 in my Emperors' throne but you have to use the right type of battery to make the lights work. the smallest I found are about the size of a nickle there flat. If you can show me some pics of what you want lit I can figure it out.

Cool LOPIE...I sent a PM to Hurricane, but I think he's really busy. I want to add lights to my ALIENS marines shoulder lamps and to the flashlights on Dallas and Kane.

Check out Hurricane's thread here:

There are 3 things you want to look for:
1st is intensity. You don’t want the light to be to dim or to bright like the Emperors throne I got low intensity and the Sith Speeder is a bit higher.
2nd is the angle or degrees that the light shine. Some are 90 degrees and some are 150 degrees. I think I used 150 on the Sith speeder cause I had to set the light in the middle of the speeder so they would look better.
3rd the volts that the LEDs take to light up. 2 volt lights won’t work on a 12 volt battery you will burn them out and the get very hot. But if you use 6 LEDs for 12 volt that’s ok because they power get distributed. Hope that helps some

Hey Lopie,

Can you give a little tutorial how to put multiple LEDs powered by 1 12V battery? I still can't figure it out.

I want to put 6 5mm LEDs together powered by 12V battery. I can't remember what their wattage at the moment.

This should help some, just remember positives go with each other and negatives go with each other. If you swap them they won’t work and once you have it solder you’re screwed. Here are two basic LED Tutorials
