Anyone going to check this out tonight? I'm not a big fan of cop shows, but the time travel aspect could be interesting. I never watched the British version of this show. And I'm still disappointed Journeyman was canceled.

I loved the British series, and hold out hope that this will deliver. But I hear that they are not following the original version too closely, so who knows. I'll DVR it and give it a shot.

yeah Im hoping Im home in time to catch this.
big Harvey Keitel fan ..... :monkey1

Ill give it a try but it most likely won't live up to the real Life on Mars. According to the promos I've seen on ABC they already took away the modern day hook on the title. I hope they retain the 70's one at least.

The reviews say that the first episode is almost verbatim to the Brit series. I've always meant to catch that but haven't been able to.

Love the ABC retro website, thanks for pointing that out.

Ok, my number one complaint has been silenced, and wow talk about balls for the WTC shot! Now Im willing to give it a fair chance and watch how it plays out. :lol

I just finished watching it and really liked it. More than I thought I would. That means it'll be cancelled.

The shots of the WTC at the beginning and end of the show were great.

Yep, it was really great - and there was an ipod. Great music in the show too - nice change from the tween bands they're always plugging on the CW shows.

You had to know the towers shot was coming and it was beautifully done. Man, I hope this show survives - at least it's not on Fox.

They actually rewrote and rehired after that - its much closer now apparently.

I'll be interested in seeing how it goes. I really liked Life on Mars (British) and yet to see the sequel as it isn't out on DVD yet.

Yea, as soon as I saw the transition from 2008 to 1973 was almost shot for shot from the BBC version, WITH the iPod randomly playing Life on Mars I was hooked. I also thought the shots of the WTC were pretty ballsy. Just hope they let Harvey loose more as Gene because man can I see him delivering some fantastic lines. Shame we don't have a post-watershed. :lol

Saw the US version & it's probably a cultural thing but didn't like it as much as the British version

I hope Harvey takes the too serious side off & has fun with the character (like reversing full speed down the street with a bacon roll in his mouth whilst looking at sam :lol)

IMO they cast Annie & Sam wrong, the rest is good casting

Episode 2 will be interesting see if they follow the british version (begins with the whole crew chasing a bank robber out a swimming pool in just their speedo pants & water wings):lol

I just finished watching this online. It's definitely a show I'll be watching from now on!
I love how they do the research on the time period (not having 10 digit phone numbers or Diet Coke back in 1973). Very cool

Research?

Some of us old folks can just remember...
