:lol:lol

Um, there's a good chance that figure is less than 1 inch tall being a miniature. I'd say that's quite a bit of detail for a figure that size.

Well, he is made of bronze and only 1.25 inches.

The Cave of Wonders itself is about 6.5 inches.

Yeah, trust me... as a painter... it's really really hard to do anything nice at that scale. Best you can do is hope it looks good from a distance. :lol

Considering that the actual figure is less than half the height of the picture, the detail isn't bad. Sure, there are those that could do better, but for a mass produced piece, not bad at all.

Well, with technology the way it is, smaller figures can be made with a lot more detail (paint and sculpt-wise) than they were in the past. Some of the Kubricks (a little under 3 inches tall):

and Minimates (about 2 inches tall):

have pretty incredible detail, when they try for it. So, I don't know that its expecting too much that a 1.25 inch figure to look like more than a blob.

Rory, I know what its like to start laughing threads and have it turn into one big FAIL. I'm here for you and you are in my family's prayers.

Actually the old Micro Collection Star Wars figures from Kenner were pretty well done for being tiny. But they didn't really try to paint any details.
