I have been blessed that my fiancee doesn't mind me having collectibles. She actually collects stuff of her own, in particular, a few comic book heroes.

She's seen my Dale Jr. collection, my Sideshow 1/6 and PFs, and other 1/6 figures I had collected over the years, and she said she would never ask me to get rid of them.

So last night, I mentioned to her getting the Hulk PF, and again tonight, as well as another PF... after getting the Endo PF. Her response was "So when do I get to see them?"

We've already said that one room in the house will showcase our stuff.

Aside from me thinking this is a most wonderful thing, does anyone else share this, or do you tread carefully when it comes to significant others' and your collection(s)?

My wife is unbelievably cool about my hobby!

Just in the last month she bought me a HTs Alien, the 1:4 Morgul Lord helm and the McFarlane 3-D F13 movie poster.

She is super cool and I often wonder how I got so lucky.

My wife doesn't like my Sideshow collection...same goes for my parents. But I really don't care what they say or think. They are entitled to their opinion. But at the end of the day, I buy what I want. Not because my wife or parents dicate what I should purchase with my hard earned money. I have no debt or owe anything on credit cards. I pay all my bills on time.

I used to give a crap awhile back...but I just don't anymore. I can't make anybody happy with what I purchase for myself, so I don't even try...

They say I should be buying "big boy" toys with my money like cars (I already own 2), a boat (what the hell am I gonna do with a boat), a camper (since I like to go camping but it's something I definately don't need), or some other big purchase to save up for. I say "Damn straight, I'm saving for the PF Darth Maul..." :duff

My wife has always supported my addiction. Back when I collected Hasbro figures she would go looking for the ones I needed.

She gets almost as excited as me when a new Sideshow box shows up.

My wife appreciates them as much as I do. (Well, maybe not that much...)

As long as I can keep the spending under control she supports my "habit."

All i can say is:

F'K ALL NAYSAYERS!!!!

My money. My hobby. They have no say about it. I don't bother them how to live their life so get off my back.

Well, while most people I know don´t understand my taste for monsters, my girlfriend likes them, and since she is ten years younger than me, the other day she asked me to leave all Sideshow collictibles on my will for her!!! I guess she is really planning on me going before her...........

Ahhhh the soft side of Darkness- how cute. :rotfl

My girlfriend likes my stuff but she does get a bit worried with all the spending.

My wife Lisa tolerates, but does not particularly like my collection. With the exception of certain pieces. She LOVES Legolas and X3 Wolvie (wonder why...) but detests Freddy, Jason, and Baron Harkonnen.

She's much more accepting since I started paying for the hobby with commission funds.

Honestly, I think those that truly love us, will accept us for all that we are.

Collectors theme song.
I've got gadgets and gizmos a-plenty
I've got who's-its and what's-its galore
You want thing-a-mabobs?
I've got twenty
But who cares? No big deal. I want more:D

She doesn't like the $$$ I spend on them, but when people come over she is always showing them my toys :lol

My wife doesn't like my Sideshow stuff much. Its mostly a space issue since I am still in school and we have 3 kids in one apartment the boxes are an irritation so my pieces stay in the closet except for the ones (UniMonsters) that I display in my office with my FigMaster Luke (and one day my Dark/Hunky Artist Ghost Anakin with Anzik Hayes belt and Snakebeater clothes.) :D

In short: what the head doesn't know that wife won't grieve over. :monkey2

Soon-to-be Ex Wife hated it.

Soon-to-be official girlfriend is cool with it.

So, yeah, I guess I upgraded. :lol

That seems strange considering that she was willing to get all dressed up. Was she a fan or what?!!??:monkey4

Glad your upgrade is compatible though. :duff

I've never had any girlfriends act wierd about my collection. I had a girlfriend in high school that would flirt with the stock boys to get the short packed Spawn stuff. And the girl the I'm seeing now was up to 6 am with me in the toy room drinking vino and playing with the Simpsons WoS figures. She was blown away by the Crime Cure Alex. And I'm a little smitten with her. :inlove

My wife actually sparked the higher priced collectibles for me by buying me a few replicas for birthdays and such. She is remarkably understanding about my hobby and I have an office that is purely dedicated to collecting habits, I'm even getting the Hulk PF for my birthday. :rock
