I would have been all over this news 20 years ago. Now the idea of a 50 year-old woman in tights jumping around with a lightsaber and being a diva just doesn't appeal that much to me. Give me any of the female Cylons over her.

If anyone doubts MADonna is scary enough to play a SIth Witch, rent her last two movies.

Aww, now she was really good in Shanghai Surprise. And what was the name of that one where she was pouring hot candle wax on Willem Dafoe's nipples? :horror

How could anyone forget "Body of Evidence"? Truly one of the worst actors of all-time, except for "Desperately Seeking Susan" where she played herself and of course her debut cameo in "Vision Quest", the 80s Matthew Modine wrestling movie where she performed "Crazy for You" in that bar/club scene.

Madonna may also be the only actress in film history who desperately needs a "blink" coach to quell that overactive twitch.

When she walked onto the screen in the middle of "Die Another Day," there were audible moans and groans throughout the theater. (And not of the pleasurable variety.)

LOL Star Wars fans complaining about Madonnas acting abilities. She would fit right into the Star Wars movies.

Why you!!! Little...!! Gonna...!!

Maybe... but still...

Cheap shot...

Now the Star Wars films have some good actors. Granted, they may not all be at the top of their game in front of a blue screen, but they are all better actors than Madonna any day of the week. Put Ewan McGregor, Samuel Jackson, Natalie Portman, Harrison Ford and Liam Neeson in a straight dramatic movie with a great director and you will see some good performances. (If you could add in Alec Guinness it wouldn't hurt...) These are good actors who just didn't always have as much to work with during their time on Star Wars.

Still, if I am gonna watch somebody swashbuckle and say, "This party's over," you could do a lot worse than SLJ.

i agree, it's mostly the script and director. i thought ewan, alec and harrison were great though.

I have no problems with the acting in the OT. Probably because the scripts were much better. And, yes, Lucas had a lot of help writing those.

Lucas just did the story ideas for the OT. The basic beat by beat elements. I still say he's a wonderful storyteller. Just not a fab dialogue writer.

However, keep in mind that some of our favorite OT quotes came from ANH, which GL wrote all by his wittle self.
